Disney Channel cancelled Girl Meets World back in January after three seasons. However, the creators promised fans they’d try and find another network for a fourth season of the TV show. Now, the creators have given an update on the status of the series, Deadline reports.
The Boy Meets World spin-off followed the family of Topanga (Danielle Fishel) and Cory (Ben Savage). The cast also included Rowan Blanchard, Sabrina Carpenter, Peyton Meyer, August Maturo, and Corey Fogelmanis.
After months of searching, the Girl Meets World writers announced via Twitter that the show will not continue after all:
I wasn't able to find a new venue for the show. I'm sorry. We brought our best and hope we made you think and feel. Until next time. Thanks.

What do you think? Did you watch Girl Meets World? Are you sad it’s officially over?
I grew up watching BMW. I think that GMW is genius. Although its a equal to BMW it is the same show. We know the back stories we know the familes. Finally seen Shawn get what he is owed. Sorta wish for a Jack and Shawn moment. I would love to have seen this lead into their college years similar to their parents. It’s a shame that Disney decided to not air it. I think that wasn’t a good decision. I’m surprised that WB or some other Network didn’t want to pick up on it. I hope somehow that this… Read more »
Sadden
I’m totally devastated. I’m happy for the effort from the creators. But I love this show and I just want it back. It the best
I loved Girl Meets World. It was my down time with my grand children Lucas, Sharon and Alexis we all enjoyed watching it and learning from it. I had to break the news to them, that it was cancelled and the girls didn’t understand why it was cancelled and I didn’t even no what to say to them. Because it was a good show. There are to many vilance in new shows these days and it is hard to find good one like Girl Meets World for children to watch these. And I will admit this I watch Girl Meets… Read more »
So sad that the best show on disney is forever gone.
Yes! I enjoyed Girl Meets World, and I’m a middle aged adult who likes quality tv shows. This was a very good show that I enjoyed watching with my nephews and nieces. So Sad it’s OVER!!!
Disney now has so many shows that I am afraid to let my son watch. Good Luck Charlie, Girl Meets World, Lab Rats Phone as and Ferb we’re shows that were family friendly, had high moral standards and were educational as well as entertaining. The stuff that is on now is either geared toward the very young or is inappropriate for viewing.
Why not do a 4th season independently/via an app./online?
I am still a few episodes behind and don’t know how it ends, but had no idea that a 4th season was planned.
I wish that “Best Friends Whenever” would find a venue through which to continue!!!
Disney Channel shows usually get 4 seasons–Then again, “Phil of the Future” never did (and, I think that was supposed to be coming back). :-
It’s very sad the world we live in that wholesome family shows with Mora lessons can no longer last on television. The days of TGIF where families could gather together t watch tv families experience and solve the positive and negative things life has to offer. Don’t get me wrong I love many shows that are on television today but it’s refreshing to go back to my yesteryears and just watch a happy enjoyable 30 minute tv show. Hopefully there will be another chance for girl meets world, when it came. Back it was highly watched so why couldn’t it… Read more »
I love girl meets world and im sad to see it go
The one show I looked forward to seeing on Friday Night was Girl Meets World. This was a family show. Can’t seem to find many of those anymore. My heart goes out to the actors who were fired from their jobs from Girl Meets World. Cruel world we live in when Disney only gives you 3 years and no more. Thank you to the cast for making the show the Best I have seen since Boy Meets World. I am a HUGE fan of both the shows. I had hope that this show could and should return to TV. Good… Read more »
