Some bittersweet news for Girls Meet World. Deadline reports the Disney Channel series has been nominated for a PGA Award the same week the network announced the show’s cancellation.
After rumors heavily suggested the show would end after season three, Disney Channel confirmed the news this week—cancelling the Boy Meets World spin-off ahead of its season three return on January 6th. The show stars Rowan Blanchard, Ben Savage, Danielle Fishel, Sabrina Carpenter, Peyton Meyer, and August Maturo.
Girl Meets World has been nominated for Outstanding Children’s Program for seasons two and three at the Producers Guild of America Awards. The winners will be announced January 28th, eight days after the show’s series finale airs on January 20th.
The Girl Meets World writers posted an “ironic” tweet in response to the nomination:
GMW nominated this morning Outstanding Children's Programming by Producer's Guild of America.

My daughter is devastated however thankyou to the writers for such a great 3 seasons and me the ability to watch my daughter get so excited before every show as I once did with Boy meets world. Congratulations to ALL the cast on their accolades and overall Stellar performance. Corey Matthew’s you still got it.
I didn’t think crappy shows were eligible for awards

I think you must just be a hater. If not, then you have no understanding of what a great quality show can do & means for quality programming for children.
