Will Godless have another season? Recently, the cast of the Netflix TV show weighed in on the possibility of a second season, via The Hollywood Reporter.
The Western drama stars Jack O’Connell as Roy Goode, an outlaw who seeks refuge in a remote mining town run by women. The cast also includes Jeff Daniels, Michelle Dockery, Scoot McNairy, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Merritt Wever, Jeremy Bobb, Whitney Able, and Samantha Soule.
When asked if they’d like a second season of Godless, cast members seemed to agree the Netflix series should stick with one season only.
From Brodie-Sangster:
It’s got a really nice beginning, middle and end. It’s very popular now-a-days to just make something go on and on and on. At some point, it becomes some sort of money-maker thing and I think as a viewer you can see that and sense that. For me, unless they do something amazing with the writing and as long as it’s appropriate, I think it’s nice to actually have a Netflix show that comes out like this where you have the beginning, middle and end.”
Sam Waterston added:
I think it’s a novel. I don’t think they’ll make a Godless 2.”
What do you think? Have you seen Godless? Would you watch a second season?
I got hooked on the amazing acting, and would watch another season. Merritt Wever, Thomas Scott S., Jeff Daniel’s , & Skoot, all were amazing.
I would watch a second season. Great actors, great series… Loved it…
BRING GODLESS BACK. GREAT SHOW. OUTSTANDING ACTORS
I don’t think it needs another season, I think it needs an extended release by doing another three episodes in the current story. One to follow the story of whitey with the buffalo soldiers, their background and the trials of whitey winning them over through a lot of trials leading to eventual respect. Makes their deaths so much more powerful. There’s two eps there. Then exploring the sheriffs relationship and full history of his saving the girl and how good he was before being blind, and then I think there needs to be an extended ending… ie the whole come… Read more »
Thought this was a great western series even without to much action the cast was great, and acting brilliant and the tension built to a great ending, i would love another series
This series was fantastic and I would love it to carry on but I appreciate it would not be an easy thing to do but surely the writers would love a challenge so come on do it !
Season 2, Alice could be pregnant or already have his child I mean, she did suduce him …he could become sheriff…he could bring his brother back with him…find out his brother is really an outlaw….all kinds of story lines could emerge….
He’s too afraid of commitment and responsibility. I’m pretty sure he pulled out.
I think he left that money n letter from his brother, so Alice if she wishes to come find him instead of going to Boston. And his brother never told him about his new job. So many things left to do. It could be a great beginning n he plays a awesome cowboy. He’s gentle way with horses just took my breathe away n how he taught truckie to grow up with a purpose. When he called him his son, when he told him it’s better to walk away, n showed him he could ride that horse. Some parts were… Read more »
I love the show, please bring another season, this is the best cowboy show since the Clint Eastwood cowboy days. I couldn’t wait to watch each episode, please bring it back
I loved this series and really hope it will continue!! It has a great plot and the actors are believable. Please bring it back!!!!
This is one of the best cowboy TV shows I have seen since the Clint Eastwood, days. Please bring this show back I love it and I love the actors. I don’t understand why you cancel a great TV show like this please continue with season two. I would like to see Roy, Goode go back and join up with the widow
First season had a good storyline and great acting. I think it’s noteworthy that this was a story about women and the dramas btwn men too. For that reason alone, there should be a season 2 and they could probably find another good plot and adapt it to the current characters.
Interesting that all the men don’t want to continue this fascinating story about a women-centric Western. End of story? NAH!!!
Only if Jack O’Connell was in it!
I thought the series was fantastic. It was the evil in Griffin that made it so. If it continues they will have to find evil in all of Roy’s travels. It could become contrived like Walking Dead…..I would rather remember it as an amazing series.
I would love for Godless to continue. At the end I said, wait, I have questions! It left very good story lines to follow up in another season.
Yes, it was gorgeous, expansive, epic, moving. Please!
I don’t think it can get any better than it already was. No, the one season was epic. Let’s let it rest.
I agree with you Doug it was beautiful just as it was. If the actors agreed why dog the story.
