New York [For Immediate Release–February 24, 2016] Mother/daughter home renovation and flipping duo Karen E Laine and Mina Starsiak will star in the new HGTV series Good Bones, premiering Tuesday, March 22, at 11 p.m. ET/PT. Daughter Mina, a real estate agent, and mom Karen, a former lawyer, own an Indianapolis-based home renovation business with a mission to revitalize their favorite neighborhoods one house at a time. The 10 episode series willfollow the expert team as they buy homes in serious disrepair, sometimes gut them to the studs and transform them into stunning remodels.
“Home renovation series are among HGTV’s strongest ratings drivers,” said Allison Page, general manager, HGTV and DIY Network. “As Karen and Mina take on drastic home renovation projects, their fun and fearless dynamic adds an entertaining dimension to the series.”
In the premiere episode, Karen and Mina will tackle a dilapidated 600 sq. ft. one-bedroom home in the Barth neighborhood of Indianapolis. Karen, Mina and their team will rip out the floors, tear down the ceiling and strip the siding – only to discover, among other things, that the old wood-frame home is engulfed in termites.
“With every house we renovate, we’re raising property values and bringing new homeowners to the neighborhood,” said Mina.
Added Karen, “For me, it’s all about having an impact in our hometown and making it a better place.”
What do you think? Do you watch HGTV? Will you watch the premiere of Good Bones?
Absolutely good show. Never miss an episode. Glad it’s coming back.
I love thé show! Glad it’s coing back
I found good bones by chance. I like how they go about changing, fixing, reshaping and getting down right into the fix of it all. Keep up the great work. You both do Indianapolis proud.
I love the show and the relationship between mother and daughter. I hope they are coming back.
Love the program. Both women are talented and creative
I like the show, but I hate the disrespect the daughter shows by over talking her mom. Mom starts talking and gets in a few words then daughter over talks her and never shuts up. And that’s in for mom
Do the houses come with the furniture and decorations?
I also would like to know if the furnishings are part of the purchase price.
Are these women color blind? There color choices are hideous.
Why is the profit so small on the good bones renovations? I just watched a show where mom & daughter renovated a home occupied by the owner. They took down walls, put in two sliding doors on either side of the fireplace, scraped walls, did the kitchen all for 42 thousand. Hou is that possible and still make a profit?
Its Indianapolis IN. The real estate is reasonable.
I totally agree – I just watched the same show and they only got $42 grand for doing all that work? They should charge at least half of what the ripoff Property Brothers charge.
I love Good Bones! The Mother/Daughter team are very happy and fun to watch and their houses are awesome! I even record their show. It’s the best on HGTV.
This show seems like a copycat of Rehab Addict, with Nicole Curtis, a pretty young woman rehabbing homes in run down city neighborhoods but without Nicole’s charm, talent and enthusiasm. The young woman’s voice even sounds a bit like Nicole’s. That said I enjoy watching rehabs of older homes and will probably watch it again.
I love them & their work. Who’s they would do a house for me.
A great new show ! They both seem so positive. Nice to see hometown people working to better their city.
I saw this episode and loved it. I went looking for more. I am sorry to see they will be on at 11 pm as I am not awake at that time. I just hope it will be on earlier instead of seeing the same show all eviening. I enjoyed the positive attitude when something went wrong. This was awelcome change.
I love this show and I am happy to see it return I watch evert episode
I record all shows so I can watch later
