After 13 years of movies and TV show episodes, magic is leaving the town of Middleton. Hallmark Channel has decided to end the Good Witch series so there won’t be an eighth season. The series finale airs on Sunday, July 25th.
A fantasy comedy-drama series, Good Witch stars Catherine Bell, James Denton, Sarah Power, Catherine Disher, Kylee Evans, Katherine Barrell, Marc Bendavid, and Scott Cavalheiro. Set in the town of Middleton, the show follows Cassandra “Cassie” Nightingale (Bell). She’s the owner of a shop called Bell, Book & Candle and is married to Dr. Sam Radford (Denton). Like her daughter Grace, Cassie has the gift of enchanted insight and magical intuition. The velvet pouches of soil discovered by Cassie, Abigail (Power), and Joy (Barrell) at the end of season six mark the start of a new Merriwick mystery for the cousins to unravel. This leads them to reflect on their pasts and how certain life events have impacted who they are now. Alongside the usual Middleton fun, season seven promises new relationships, personal challenges, and romance.
The seventh season of Good Witch is averaging a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.53 viewers in the live+same day ratings. Compared to season six, that’s down by 29% in the demo and down by 18% in viewership. It’s one of Hallmark’s lowest-rated series but still does pretty well when compared to other cable dramas.
Here’s the series ending announcement from Hallmark:

Very sad I LOVE the Good Witch and, I’m a real Hallmark fan. I find it disturbing that they would cancel such a great show I’m also a WCTH fan and, find it disturbing that they would consider bringing Lori Loughlin back.
I am very sad to see an end to The Good Witch. I have watched it from the beginning and already feel the loss.
I think this wrong to cancel good witch I love it it doesn’t have all the fighting and shooting and car racing and no fighting ,its a brilliant family serious, why don’t they cancel Scorpio instead, please don’t cancel this program.
I am so sorry that the Good Witch is being canceled. It is intriguing and refreshing with a hint of mystery compared to other shows out there. Please have a series 8.

I have enjoyed “GoodWitch” very much & have followed for all seasons. I’m very upset to hear the ratings are down & it’s being cancelled. Very upset. It’s one of few shows I can still enjoy. I DVR so I can go back & watch during times, LIKE NOW, when there isn’t anything on I like to watch, and/or nothing but re-runs, most of which I don’t care for on first pass. My DVR is gonna be used up on “GW” so I can still enjoy for a while longer. I will miss the town of Middleton & all its… Read more »
I grew to love this show over the years – the good witch is a warm happy magical place to visit and I’m so very sorry it’s ending. I wish every town could have a Cassie Nightingale in it!! Maybe down the road the producers will reconsider ❤️
I have been a fan since the beginning. I’m so sad to lose the series. I hope they will consider some Good Witch movies again. And add more magic and mystery. Love the cast and will miss seeing them on Sunday night’s.
Yes! I have watched this series since the very beginning! I thoroughly enjoy watching the Good Witch! It is a real shame that it has been canceled. I wanted to see more adventures among the family and the town. Every time someone makes a good show it gets canceled on season 8 or 9. Take a look at Heartland it is still going strong after all these years. You can always add another writer to spice things up. You can’t always rely on those hired pollsters to make a ratings decision. Ask the people who pay for the Hallmark channel.… Read more »

Please reconsider! We love the good witch never missed an episode. It’s one of the best storylines on television. Ratings may be down due to the world reopening so please reconsider. My granddaughter and I look forward to ever Sunday and watch together. There are very few series left we can watch together as family.
I am truly sad to hear that the show I so most enjoy is ending. I’ve loved it from the start. I’ve always looked forward to the new season and cleared my schedule to watch the show. I wish the whole cast nothing but the best and I thank you for such an awesome show. P. S. – hope to see you guys on other Hallmark shows.
