STUDIO CITY, CA – June 2, 2016 – Hallmark Channel today announced that the hit original series “Good Witch” will return for a third season. “Good Witch” is currently airing Sundays at 9pm ET/PT with the season two finale scheduled for June 19, 2016. Production on 12 episodes for season three is scheduled to commence August in Toronto for a 2017 premiere, including an all-new Halloween special to air October 2016.
“Fans are enchanted by the magical adventures of Cassie, Sam and Grace – charming characters who have inspired our viewers to believe in the magic that can be found in our everyday lives. We’re excited to see the captivating adventure continue with a third season,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming and Network Publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. “Our original series have performed outstandingly well on a very competitive night, and we will continue to bring quality entertainment to Sundays with the August debut of our newest series ‘Chesapeake Shores.'”
Through the first seven episodes, season 2 of “Good Witch” is averaging a solid 2.3 HH rating and 2.5 million total viewers in L+3, making Hallmark Channel the #3 top rated cable network in the time period.
This is the second original series pick-up for Hallmark Channel in recent months, having also confirmed a fourth season for its frontier drama “When Calls the Heart.” The series is a social media phenomenon with its loyal #Hearties fans, and averaged a 2.3 HH rating and 2.6 million total viewers in Live +3 for its third season. Hallmark Channel will continue to present original series on Sunday nights this year, with the much anticipated series premiere of “Chesapeake Shores” starring Jesse Metcalfe, Meghan Ory, Treat Williams and Diane Ladd on August 14 at 9pm ET/PT.
“Good Witch” stars Catherine Bell (“Army Wives, “JAG”), Bailee Madison (“Just Go With It,” “The Fosters”) and Golden Globe(R) Award and two-time Screen Actors Guild Award winner James Denton (“Desperate Housewives”). The weekly series takes viewers on a magical journey with Cassie Nightingale (Bell) and her bright, teenage daughter Grace (Madison), who shares her mom’s special intuitive charm. Sam (Denton), a doctor, and his teenage son live next door, and are charmed by the “magical” mother-daughter duo and wonder is it really magic, a lucky coincidence or just a special intuitive insight only this family possesses? Based on one of the network’s most successful original movie franchises of all time, “Good Witch” inspires with each intriguing episode set in the quaint fictional town of Middleton.
“Good Witch,” is a Whizbang Films Production. Orly Adelson, Jonathan Eskenas, Frank Siracusa and Craig Pryce are the executive producers. Catherine Bell is co-executive producer. ITV Studios America controls distribution rights in the world for “Good Witch” outside of North America.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Good Witch? Are you glad it’s been renewed?
So pleased hallmark are doing a third season I love good witch. I’ve watched it from the beginning over here in the UK on mainstream channel, and now Netflix. Just hope the good doctor is still 8n from the.last episode, it doesn’t look promising.
Very glad this show has been renewed for another season! Nice to have something upbeat and easy to watch instead of all the blood and guts or comic book, fairy tale shows. Love the characters on the Good Witch. Have enjoyed Catherine Bell since the series “JAG”. Really like the chemistry the characters project.
Why renew? Series has lost it’s magic. Don’t see Cassie with the good “Doctor” who is supposed to replace her husband Jake. Bring him back and you have a show worth watching.
Watch this program every week I really enjoy the Hallmark programs and movies!,
I am so glad good witch has been renewed for third season enjoy the show very much. I also love when calls the heart and the hallmark movies.

I’m happy that there will be another season for the “Good Witch”. It’s the only series that I watch faithfully! Just wish that there would be more episodes in a season, and not take so long to return.
I am so happy Good Witch and When Calls the Heart are renewed!!!!! Thank you Hallmark!!
I am thrilled with When Calls the Heart & Good Witch renewals! Hallmark is providing quality television, absent the violence so prevalent in our media. I am proud of Hallmark, and I am proud to say its imbedded in my DVR! Movies, shows I watch consistently. Its actually ALL I WATCH! I can have a joyful restful sleep at night rather that being hyped up by VIOLENCE! Thank You Hallmark for Good Witch & WCTH.
