It’s a emotional goodbye for Grimm. Recently, the cast and EPs spoke to TVLine about the upcoming sixth and final season of the NBC TV series.
The supernatural drama stars David Giuntoli as Nick Burkhardt, a Portland-based homicide detective who battles creatures inspired by Grimm’s Fairy Tales. Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Reggie Lee, Sasha Roiz, Bree Turner, and Claire Coffee also star.
In the interview, Giuntoli said he was grateful the cast and crew knew the show was ending ahead of time:
First of all, it was very lovely to be able to get a final anything in life where you know it’s the final anything. It doesn’t just get pulled out from under you, so that was nice. I like to call it the Oregon, death-with-dignity, kind-of-our-hospice run.”
Star Silas Weir Mitchell revealed that fans will be satisfied by the ending:
I think [the writers are] trying to answer questions for the people that have stuck with us, man. The fans have stuck with us from this night to that night and this time to that time. They deserve answers. They deserve the satisfaction of an ending.”
Later, executive producer David Greenwalt described the series finale as bittersweet:
We’re leaving it in a good place. Great sorrow and great hope, you know?”
The sixth and final season of Grimm premieres on NBC on January 6th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Grimm? Are you looking forward to the final season?
I love this show!!!! Love the entire cast! Please bring it back!
I would love a spin off of Grimm as long as Monroe and his girlfriend are kept on the show, I truly miss my Grimm fix once a week.
So sad and sorry to this series end. The final episode was simply dreadful and seemed patchy to try and the up loose ends. The chemistry of the cast was exceptional and I’ll miss them very much. Hoped another network would pick this up… as what happened to Nashville. I’ve already forgotten what is supposed to fill the time slot since I won’t be watching.
Good entertaining fantasy show. There are so many bad shows that stay but sadly Grimm is ending. It had a great run and will be surely missed.
This Is a show I’d also hoped would go on longer however I recognize shows like this as a whole going eventually and u can’t keep coming up with new ideas and taking a chance on overblowing the plot and add to what has worked so well, tending to make it too convoluted! Having said that, this final season so far has been EPIC to say the least! Kudos to the writers! I kinda want to see Renard get killed and get his just due for problems he has caused, however a lot of what he did was the result… Read more »
Agree totally with this comment. My husband and I have enjoyed Grimm since the beginning. Huge fans. Will miss it but better to go out with a bang. It’s one of the most creative shows. Glad last night to see the beginnings of reconciliation with Renard. And Diana is just plain spooky with those eyes. Reminds me of the old “Children of the Damned” movie which scared the daylights out of me. The writing this season has been EXCELLENT- they really upped their game with great comedy and other surprises. Thanks!
my wife and I loved this show nbc wont have another one this good
I have been watching Grimm since the beginning and it is the best TV show Ever!!! Why is this creative, exciting, unique TV show ending!!! I looked forward each week to watching this show, and kept my schedule clear!!! I have cable and a wide selection of shows and stations to watch but NBC was my channel when the Grimm was on..once the Grimm ends no reason to ever watch NBC!!!!! Why is NBC ending the Grimm!!!
I am very disappointed in the cancellation of Grimm, it’s my favorite show!!! Why is it the good ones get cancelled & the crappy ones never seem to end? This was the last straw for NBC, if Grimm doesn’t come back I’m done watching NBC! This is your last chance to keep your loyal viewers of the BEST show on tv! Cancel it and you lose tons of viewers! You might want to check with viewers before cancelling shows, we’d be happy to let you know what we like & what we don’t like!! Shows like Dallas went on for… Read more »
