Grimm aired its series finale at the end of March, and recently executive producers David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf spoke with Deadline about a possible future for the NBC TV show.
The show follows Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), a homicide detective who fights mythological forces. The cast also includes Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Bitsie Tulloch, Reggie Lee, Sasha Roiz, Bree Turner, and Claire Coffee.
In the interview, Kouf said they’d be open to a Grimm spin-off but the series ending was meant to have closure:
We just leave all our options open. You just never know. … It seemed like a very fairytale ending to the show. We really wanted to close the book on it.”
When asked about the possible future for Nick and Juliette, Greenwalt said the ending they got was more realistic:
There are a lot of people who have a lot of opinions about that on both sides of that question. But I think that there was such a beautiful speech in the third to last episode in which Eve/Juliette says, “I wouldn’t go back if I could … We’ve all grown, we’re all different now than we were.” So I think that’s more realistic.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Grimm? Would you watch a spin-off?
I loved watching Grimm. I was saddened to learn it was coming to a close. I would definitely want to see a spin_off from the show.
Yes i would. Oh so much!!
I would definitely watch any spinoffs because I have been a huge fan since season one. I would like to thank you for beautifully ending the series and allowing these characters, who I love, to carry on in my mind. I was hoping it would not end on a sour note, so thank you. Maybe you could do a spinoff with Trouble. I like her character and she could have her own story lines since she was in and out of the Grimm episodes. Also, Diana and Kelly could have their own series spinoff. There are more stories to be… Read more »
I’d absolutely watch a Grimm spinoff I never wanted it to end so soon.
I would definitely watch a spinoff, as long as Monroe and Rosalee and their triplets are part of it. And Bud “the Beaver” Wurstner!
Yes, I looked forward to Grimm and hated to see it end. I would absolutely watch a spinoff!
YES, i would watch a spinoff, if David Guianali was still in it. Loved Grimm…<3
I was so disappointed to see it end, Grimm has so much potential to keep going! Just look at Supernatural, they’re on season 12! Your fans want and NEED more Grimm! Please bring it back or spin off
I would love to see a spin off of Grimm or even a return of Grimm
It was finished too early
Yes, definitely. That was the best show NBC offered. I loved for Friday’s to come because it was on. Someone needs to bring it back. It wasn’t time yet for it to end.
I really enjoyed Grimm, there is a lot of story lines that can come from Grimm. It really was the only thing on Friday night’s to watch.
This was one of my favorite shows on TV, was
sad to see it end but I thought the ending left
open the possibility of the return of Grimm.
I’m hoping that the show in any form will be
Back.
I am a huge fan of #Grimm. I would love to see Grimm Spin off. Thanks to entire cast and crew for entertaining us for so long. There was so much to tell and I m kind of disappointed with the end of this epic journey.
We need more seasons of Grimm. It’s a beautiful plot with more potential to captivate audiences and generations. It provides a lesson about evil which people fight daily. they should put more seasons.Please. directives
