If you were waiting anxiously to find out the identity of the mysterious Magic Man on ABC’s Happy Town, you’ll have to wait a bit longer.
Happy Town revolves around a bunch of strange disappearances and murders in a small town. The large cast includes Sam Neill, M.C. Gainey, Geoff Stults, Lauren German, Amy Acker, Steven Weber, Ben Schnetzer, Sarah Gadon, Jay Paulson, and Robert Wisdom.
After a disappointing start in the ratings, Happy Town was pulled off the airwaves for much of May. Before the show could return on June 2nd, ABC officially cancelled the series. Only eight episodes have been filmed but at least answers to some of the TV show’s mysteries will be revealed by the end.
Unfortunately, ABC has pulled the show off the air once again. Happy Town was scheduled to take next Wednesday off but return for June 30th and July 7th with the last installments. The network has decided, likely because Happy Town’s ratings have gotten really bad, to replace them with repeats of Castle.
It’s likely that ABC will get around to airing the last two episodes of Happy Town on a Saturday night sometime this summer. It won’t be soon though. On July 3rd, they’ll burn off the last episodes of the forgotten. On July 10th, the network’s airing the extra two episodes of Eastwick. Could Happy Town return on July 17th? Another mystery that we’ll have to wait to have solved.
What do you think? Are you upset that ABC has pulled the last two episodes of Happy Town? Do you think they’ll ever air?

There is plenty of room for god aweful reality shows on ABC like the Bachelorette and DWTS, but they can’t just show the last epiodes of Happy Town! It’s ridiculous. I really like this show, what did they think would happen to the ratings once they cancelled the show, of course they went even lower. The Neilsen system needs to change, there are so many great shows that get the boot because these people have no taste and just like to watch mind numbing reality TV.
This show was great.. I had 6 episodes on my dvr and started watching it last night. Made it through the 3rd episode and just found this post today that you canceled it.. I’m really disappointed in you ABC executives! This is a unique series that isn’t brainless. Take off Shaq VS. , Cougar Town, or any of your other stupid reality shows. Keep Happy Town on the air please! oh The Gates sucks (no pun intended)!!!!
I am terribly upset to here this. I am a huge fan of the show. I think that is is great. The mystery behind everything is what keeps me watching week after week. It is frustrating. They seem to be cancelling everything. First it was Jericho, which I loved and then Flashforward. Now this. I feel like I am wasting money every month purchasing cable.
I just found out! I have really enjoyed this show, it isnt like others that is what makes it interesting to watch, It’s that non normal mentality that keeps you interested. This is the second tv series I started and cant finish!
I am not happy about yet another show ending without a real ending. So many shows get taken off before they even really have a chance to find a fan base. I know for me if the show is on every week same day same time I am more likely to watch it but once it is off for awhile I forget about it usually. I do wonder though if they track those that watch these shows online because I know I usually end up watching my favorite shows online especially in the summer time. Was really hoping to see… Read more »
Happy Town was starting to grow on me since the pilot! And YOU CAN REALLY TELL A LOT ABOUT A SHOW BY THEIR PILOTS. The show has so many qualities we herdly find in todays networks! Well written mysteries, suspense, action! Great actors! Damn right I’m upset. How could ABC cancel great series like that with THAT much potencial? This series properly promoted could easelly become one fo the “Best” Mid-season shows of 2010! And I’m not exagerating.. is just that this IS that absurd! In stead of that… they chose to over-promote stupid shows like “The Gate”, which i… Read more »
Very predictable. And network TV is wondering why the cable networks are hurting them. Its their poor programming decisions. Don’t waste your time this summer with Scroundrels or the Gates. They’ll pull those also……..
i liked the program . i will miss it if they don’t bring it back!
PLEASE DON’T GET RID OF HAPPY TOWN! IT HAS A LOT GOING FOR IT, THERE ARE LOTS OF WORTHLESS SHOWS YOU CAN DELETE INSTEAD.
This is really annoying! I have been watching it — and I like the show — knowing that it is already canceled and I’m not even gonna get a chance to watch whatever is left? ARGH!
sorry, I left that opening sentence a little short. I meant, too many “decent” shows have been given a “minimal” chance at survival, with minimal advertising. I just don’t know what ABC expects. They opened with around 5.5 mill I heard. What’s wrong with that? They still get 2.2 million after cancelling the freaking show? Why don’t they try to make it a success? I mean, virtually every commercial break of every single show advertises their local news and what’s going to be on. Every network does that crap. “Tune in at 11 and we’ll tell you a bunch of… Read more »
I will no longer watch any new shows on major networks; too many have been given a chance. I hate reality tv shows and I hate that they dominate the air waves over good shows with a decent story line like Happy Town. It’s clear networks don’t give a crap about the audience and I’m appauled by the horrid choices of shows networks are making these days. Call me old school, I don’t care, but A) I will never again watch anything on ABC, never, and B) I will no longer watch any new shows on any major network. Not… Read more »
ABC Did not even give Happy Town a chance!!
Yes, I am dissapointed.
Yes, I am very upset. I have been recording it onto my DVR and then taping them onto a DVD when I watch it later. With the invention of the DVR who watches live TV anymore. 90% of the shows I DVR record to watch later, have all been cancelled. I am really ticked off.
Of course its ratings are down even further, who else but crazy people like me wants to watch a show that has already been cancelled. It’s very frustrating, that I decided to watch the remaining episodes, just to have the ending pulled away at the last minute. I don’t know who the Neilsen families are, but I am tired of all the shows I want to watch getting cancelled after one season or less. . .
