Last week, NBC unveiled their newest legal drama series, Harry’s Law. Interestingly, this isn’t a new Law & Order spin-off but rather the brainchild of David E. Kelley who created shows like ABC’s Boston Legal. He also worked on NBC’s popular LA Law many years ago. Will this legal series last as long as those or be quickly cancelled instead?
Harry’s Law revolves around Harriet “Harry” Korn (Kathy Bates), a curmudgeonly ex-patent lawyer. She’s abruptly fired from her blue chip law firm, forcing her to search for a fresh start. Harry finds it when she meets Malcolm Davies (Aml Ameen), a college student who desperately needs her help and ends up working for her. A young legal hotshot named Adam Branch (Nate Corddry) accidentally hits her and gives up his corporate job to join the team. With the help of Harry’s shoe-obsessed assistant, Jenna (Brittany Snow), they open for business as Harriet’s Law and Fine Shoes.
The TV series debuted last Monday and it attracted an okay 2.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 11.07 million viewers. It ranked in second place for the timeslot though probably would have been third if Castle had not been a repeat. Though that’s not a great debut, it’s a 47% improvement over Chase’s last original episode in the same timeslot. That’s very positive for NBC.

Last night’s episode of Harry’s Law drew a 2.1 in the demo and 10.43 million viewers. That’s a loss of about 5% in the demo from the premiere but still positive since most shows lose between 10 and 15% of their viewership in week two. Most people who watched last week obviously liked it and returned and perhaps even told a friend or two.
After just two airings, Harry’s Law ranks in sixth place on the list of NBC’s most-watched scripted programs, just below 30 Rock. That’s very positive, especially considering NBC’s string of bad luck in the Mondays at 10pm timeslot. If the series can sustain or even build on these early numbers, it looks certain that NBC will renew it for season two.
But, what do you think? Do you like Harry’s Law? Do you think NBC should keep it going or just cancel it? What do you like or dislike about the new series?

LOVE IT! VERY GUTSY AND FUN!
This is a great show! I hope NBC keeps it and put it in a better time slot. It’s hard for working people to stay up late to watch TV.
A great show. However, I can’t find it. Sometimes its on Monday nights, sometimes on Saturday nights. ? And why was it taken off on demand? Don’t you want people to see it? Give people a chance to get to like it by leaving it in one place.
@Sue: It airs on Monday nights. The Saturday night episodes are reruns.
Totally awesome show!
Renew it, and keep it on xfinity (on Demand),extremely convenient!!!
Thanks!
We love Harry’s Law. It is one of the few shows that my husband and I watch together. The other two are Two and A Half Men (although we’ve seen all the originals now and don’t watch reruns) and Mike and Molly. The Golden Girls were also great, but we’ve seen all those as well.
Please keep Harry’s Law!
harry’s law. great entertainment. great actors and characters. how can you go wrong with the great Ms. Bates?
If you do not keep this wonderful TV program I will never forgive the network.
THE SHOW IS GREAT KEEP IT AND PUT IT BACK ON XFINITY ON DEMAND….
I love this show it rocks on demand made a mistake taking it off I think the time slot was bad but It didn’t matter when on demand was playing it because you had your chance to watch it whenever you wanted but now i hate on demand this was the best show out and they messed it up
Fantastic….so refreshing…save this show
I love Harrys Law. When I did not watch it on the night it was on I would watch it on demand. Then they took it off On Demand. Why do they always mess with the good shows and leave the bad ones on
Love this show! Well written! Kathy Bates is great! Put it in a different time slot!
hi mom
Please keep Harry’s law, it’s a great show. Where have we seen the young blond “sho diva” before. She looks so familiar but can’t place her.
I hope that Harrys Law will remain on the air as I thoroughly enjoy it. It’s well written, quick, and the cast is superb, I totally love this program.
I am very disappointed it’s as if veiwers weren’t given an opportunity to discovered the program. Good story lines and real quality actors
I hope the network reconsiders and stand by its first decision to bring viewers a quality program.
I love this show. I tried to watch it every time it was on but I missed the season finale & I went to On Demand & it was gone. I am not happy. This show better come back!!!!!
Great show, bad time slot/night. I was watching On Demand and now they’ve axed that, so if this show fails it’ll probably be because the people who did want to watch it, couldn’t.
Yeah….pissed me off a LOT they moved it off of On Demand!! No wonder NBC sinks in ratings….they keep ******** with their shows….the good ones keep getting put in bad time slots and put on hiatus…..Harry’s Law is GREAT!
