We’ve received a few emails from readers asking if Harry’s Law has been cancelled. After all, the last original episode of the Kathy Bates series aired on January 18th.
The legal drama has certainly been struggling in the ratings and is one of the lowest-rated shows on the network this season. But, while it’s hard to imagine that Harry’s Law will be renewed for a third season, the series hasn’t been cancelled just yet. It does have a lot of viewers, just not in the desired demographic unfortunately.
Harry’s Law is on hiatus and won’t return until March 11th, once the February sweeps period has finished. NBC ordered 22 episodes for the current season so there are 10 installments left to air.
Since it’s likely that the show won’t be back, hopefully the cast and crew won’t leave viewers with a cliffhanger in the last episode.
What do you think? Are you still watching Harry’s Law? Do you miss it when it’s not on?

Miss Harry’s Law a lot. I think the content is very provocative, and deals with interesting questions of law and morality. Can’t believe it’s in line for cancellation!
The first season was more unique and interesting than other shows on TV. I liked the quirky shoe shop law office and the girl who ran it. Hated that she left. I liked that they were small and took on the looked down upon cases. Even though now it is more of a typical attorney show and they have exploded into a full blown law firm I still love the show’s unique story lines and the fact that it makes you think about both sides to a story/issue. I love Harry’s wit and her “dry” emotions. I would really hate… Read more »
I will be sorry to see Harry’s Law go – I guess interesting characters, challenging ideas, and great actors can’t find the idiocy of fake reality and crummy amature singers and dancers. Once again we surrender to the lowest common denominator. No wonder usually watch PBS and Discovery….
I like this show. However, after this season, I can see why it might get cancelled. I mean really. Defending the rights of a gorilla? Was that the “jump the shark” episode already?
The characters changed too dramatically this season. First season seemed more fun. And when does the actual DA try cases in court. Hopefully the writers can do a miracle and bring back a theme to this show which was the shoe store/gangmembers, etc.
Please don’t cancel this show. Kathy Bates is amazing. It is good having a law show with a strong female lead. The last few shows were brilliant- especially the ape episode.
This is one of the better shows on TV! Come on… you are kidding us right : )
Tell me it isn’t so please? I think you need to find a better time slot for this one and not just cancel based on current ratings! This show deserves a better chance.
We Love Harry’s Law and hope it will be continued.
Love this show, Please do NOT cancel Harry’s Law! One of the best on TV. I never miss it. What would you replace it with ? another borring reality show we don’t need.
Harry’s Law is almost starting out being exactly like the Practice and Boston Legal. Law and Order had 4 or 5 Sequels 3 of those were not successful, Law & Order Criminal Intent was already canceled three years ago. People are seeing Harry’s Law heading down the same highway to getting canceled. I am thinking about writing a series ending episode page concerning how the NCIS cast could have a new job. Please cancel Harry’s Law. Nothing lasts forever
I watched season one, was ok. but the change this season turned me off. So I stopped watching. Case closed.
To: NBC From: A passionate viewer Please do NOT cancel Harry’s Law! The actors, notably, Kathy Bates, as well as the storyline, are exceptional and compelling. The episode about the ape that was denied the ability to continue living with a human being (I’m unsure if this was to be a permanent or temporary arrangement.) drove me to tears. I was particularly moved by Kathy Bates’ emotions as she visited the ape, transforming herself from the stolid lawyer, to a feeling, vulnerable human being capable of perceiving the ape’s sadness. Please reconsider canceling this valuable and entertaining series and refrain… Read more »
Great show! I will miss it.
Another show that my husband and I faithfully watch. We did think the series took a wrong turn from the first season. We liked that premise and those characters and it has transitioned into a more typical lawyer-driven show, away from the angle of being in a poor neighborhood inside a shoe store front. What does still set it apart are the story lines and the difficult topics they aren’t afraid to tackle. Topics such as “who gets this child after she was kidnapped and raised by others” is a current, dramatic issue with no real positive solutions, much as… Read more »
Love this show, hate the re-imagining that happened. It’s now too much like Boston Legal and that show ran it’s course. I preferred Malcolm, the street police guy, and Brittany Snow. Mark Valley is the kiss of death to most series and Tommy Jefferson is not as Flamboyant as last year, also who’s minding the store?
When I think of this show I will always think of Malcom dropping out of the sky on top of Harry. I laughed so hard I cried. I can’t say that has happened much in about 20 years now.
