New York [April 2, 2018] It’s a family affair for popular contractor Mike Holmes in his new DIY Network series Holmes: Next Generation. Premiering Tuesday, April 17, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the six-episode series will follow Mike as he teams up with his daughter Sherry and son Mike Jr., who also are home renovation experts, to rescue homeowners from do-it-yourself projects gone wrong. Armed with their dad’s strong work ethic, blunt construction advice and on-site manpower, Sherry and Mike Jr. will take the lead to fix dysfunctional renovation projects and create family dream homes.
“I’ve been making it right for homeowners for over 35 years,” said Mike. “Now it’s time for the next generation of Holmes to step up. But it’s not easy living up to my standards.”
“Dad likes things his way,” added Sherry. “But we’re getting him to consider our point of view and new ideas that he would never normally choose.”
In the premiere episode, Mike, Sherry and Mike Jr. will help a homeowner finish the incomplete improvement projects started by her late husband. After repairing the damaged roof and cracked foundation, the trio will give the property a major refresh with a modern kitchen, new hardwood flooring and a bright, open staircase.
“We’re going to help this deserving homeowner get some peace of mind,” said Mike Jr. “This will be a great fresh start for her.”
Throughout the season, fans can visit diynetwork.com/HolmesNextGen for exclusive online content, including sneak peeks of Mike Jr. and Sherry’s DIY projects for the homeowners, behind-the-scenes bloopers and photos of the renovated spaces. Viewers also can interact on social media using #HolmesNextGen.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of DIY? Will you watch Holmes: Next Generation?
I love the show. I love how they help employees and family amn friend’s. I am a person that helps others all the time. If they call for some help I go as long as I am not working. I lost my husband back in 05 and have been struggling ever since. I have down some changes in my home but my outside and roof are in dire need of new roof and repair and paint walls. I have asked foe help from people that I have helped and they never come or call me back.. Not sure what to… Read more »
Absolutely, this show is awesome, one of the best shows on DIY. I love the family banter, the charitable work being done for well deserving every day folks. I learn so much by watching how they correctly resolve unsafe, sub-standard work left by an unspurious contractor. This is another reason I watch.
I really enjoy the close family dynamic, and they have extensive experience in DIY and home reparations. I can’t wait to see more episodes!
Love this show. It’ not the old Holmes on Holmes but next best. Not a fan of his other show where he & his son buy properties. But this goes back to now the family helping people and trying to do things the right way. Love it. I had missed mike for years no other show he was in hit the right spot. Then I saw this about two weeks ago. I was afraid it had been cancelled glad to see just between seasons. I also have to say this is one of the few places I see a new… Read more »
Love love love the show! Mike Holmes is the best and his kids add a nice family feel to the show. They’re skills are impressive.
I noticed a rerun of the show and I liked it…I will check for other episodes and wait for the next season!

On Mikes crew?? Please help. Love the show
I love Mike Holmes…and his family…I like the idea of the kids getting involved…I agree with the posts …show more of the o crew and the construction project… instead of each of the kids fighting over there special projects…I get it ….but it seems like that is all they care about… really miss the old Holmes on Holmes, Make it right.. etc liked the format better…
In the episode nightmares and dreams
No electical work,
No plumbing work
Would love to see more building and not a scripted show…
I can’t believe I’m actually spending the time to write a review about a reality tv series online. Anyway, this show has essentially ruined the greatest parts of Mike Holmes’ shows. His was the only one that would actually show the building process, and feature construction products and contractors doing their jobs. The plumber, electrician, roofers, etc were all featured and explained what and why they were working on. That has all taken a back seat to some forced/scripted “made for tv” nonsense with his children. I’ve started to assume that his son works on dumb side projects every episode… Read more »
I adore the Holmes family and what they do for people, and what they teach on their shows.
I just wish they would recycle the things they pull from houses. Like sinks, cupboards, floors etc. it would help Habitat For Humanity, or local homeless shelters.
I have always enjoyed watching Mike Holmes. His new show Holmes The Next Generation is a great title. However they need to bring back the old crew minus Damon Bennett. Damon has moved on. However there were other regular crew members. Where is Mike’s Son in Law. I think it would add more variety. It is a little boring the way it exists right now. I also liked their old plumber. He was the guy who had the scope to see if there are clogs in the old piping. If the old crew is still there I have not seen… Read more »
This is by far the best “Holmes” series the others were great, but the chemistry on this show is fantastic!
Love it
I watched his old show all the time. I loved how he helped people fix their homes to be livable again. Little did I know I would be in a similar predicament where I could use his help! I’m soooo happy he is starting a new show with his children! I used to help my dad work on fixing things around the house, and those are some of my favorite memories. He only had me to help, (no brothers or sisters) so I was glad to help him, and I learned a lot. Unfortunately, I also inherited his trust in… Read more »
Cannot stand this guy. Arrogant, self important . No thanks.
Its called confidence and a genuine willingness to help people.
Knowledgeable, generous, environmentally aware, not a dick. Sounds like he’s everything you lack.
