What’s in store for Homeland? Recently, EP Chip Johannessen spoke to TVLine about season six of the Showtime TV series.
Regular cast members Claire Danes, Rupert Friend, F. Murray Abraham, and Mandy Patinkin are all returning for the new season, which will take place between the election and inauguration of a new president.
In the interview, Johannessen says season six will explore Carrie as a mother:
[Her] role as a mother — and possibly as a bad mother — is a little more front and center. Last season, it was easy for her to put Frannie on a plane and get her out of [Berlin].”
The new season will also address Brody’s (Damian Lewis) absence:
“One thing that surfaces this season is the question of who her father was. I actually just got done writing a scene for Episode 9 that serves as kind of a follow-up to a monologue [Carrie delivered to Frannie] in Season 4, in which she got her up to speed on who her father was.”
Season six of Homeland premieres on January 15th.
What do you think? Are you a Homeland fan? Are you looking forward to the new season?
