Last year, the Nielsen ratings for the Insecure TV show on HBO grew by leaps and bounds, maybe in part because it followed Game of Thrones and Ballers. While the epic fantasy drama won’t be back this summer, the comedies are still paired together. Can they maintain their audience when not backed by the power of the Iron Throne? Will Insecure be cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
An HBO comedy, Insecure stars Issa Rae, Yvonne Orji, Lisa Joyce, Jay Ellis, Y’lan Noel, Natasha Rothwell, and Amanda Seales. The series follows best friends Issa (Rae) and Molly (Orji). The duo tries to deal with their own real-life flaws, even as they attempt to navigate different worlds and cope with an endless series of uncomfortable everyday experiences. Rae also co-created the series with Daily Show vet Larry Wilmore.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
