TV show description:
This traditional sitcom revolves around Kevin Gable (Kevin James), a newly retired police officer who lives in Massapequa, New York.
After 30 years on the force, Kevin’s looking forward to relaxing and spending quality time with his wife Donna (Erinn Hayes) and their young kids — Sara (Mary-Charles Jones) and Jack (James DiGiacomo).
When his oldest daughter Kendra (Taylor Spreitler) announces she’s dropping out of college to support her tech-wizard fiancé, Chale (Ryan Cartwright), Kevin knows his only choice is to move them both into his converted garage to keep her in school. Kevin was going to rent it out for extra money and now finds that he may need to find another job.
Kevin’s former work buddies graduated from the Academy with him, served on the force together, and retired at the same time. They are Goody (Leonard Earl Howze), Kyle (Gary Valentine), and Duffy (Lenny Venito).
When the second season kicks off, Donna has died, and Kevin is working for his old partner, Vanessa Cellucci (Leah Remini), at her security firm.

What do you think? Did you like the Kevin Can Wait TV show? Should CBS have cancelled or renewed it for season three?
My husband and I enjoy the show very much. It is nice to laugh at the end of the day and end it on a high note. We hope it stays around.
Great show! Finally a tv show comedy that doesn’t SUCK! All shows need time to develop the characters. Even the King of Queens was slow at the start, but it improved over time. Give it chance.
This is just the same exact character as Doug in the “King of Queens”–same stupid situations–only with hair dye. Pull the plug–the show is dead.
Repeat of King of queens with kids added. Same stupid food jokes. Hopefully won’t last.
Kevin James is funny and likeable… What more can you ask for?
Okay, so his brand of humour can be somewhat predictable at times, but it still manages to make me laugh out loud… Repeatedly… Which I absolutely love!!! I truly miss seeing more lighthearted and positive sitcoms available on our TV schedule. In a sea of dark and gloomy shows, this is a welcomed addition to our television screens. My advice for the show would be to slowly remove some of its cast members (mostly the kids unfortunately) from the story lines and focus more on his relationship… Read more »
This show reeks! So childish, stupid and NOT FUNNY. I despise any show with a laugh track – it’s distracting and they crank it up constantly, usually at stuff that is not even funny. Kevin James can do much better than this. It’s pathetic. And who cast the wife? She’s way too young and needs acting lessons…desperately!
I love the show.Kevin James is truly funny. The whole cast is funny. And good.I watch King of Queens re-runs all the time.I hope Kevin Can Wait stays on the air.
I love it.Kevin James is truly funny. The whole cast is good. I hope it stays on the air.
Same show as King of Queens. KoQ cast much better in my opinion. I could watch reruns all the time. Don’t think it will last.
It stinks Kevin James and his brother Gary Valentine have NO
Talent nothing but fat ugly balding sicko with huge egos!
The show is not strong enough to remain on the air. King of Queens was a great show thanks to the wife and father in law. I don’t expect CBS to cancel it as it’s line up is weak to begin with i.e. anytime head of networks wife has 2 shows, now that is just sad!
Even worse than I thought! Stealing material from Tim Allen sitcoms new and…old. The older daughter, supposedly a pre-law student, whose forehead reads: “SPACE FOR RENT”. I imagine there is a huge loft in there.
And his brother is here, too. More annoying than on KoQ!
NWMT.
Did not like show flat as a pancake.
Well…… when I saw the trailer I said oh no this doesn’t look good…. I am a King of Queens fan ….I love the chemistry between Kevin James and Leah Remini ….I could watch repeats over and over…… it’s like the same thing as Everybody Loves Raymond ….there’s just something addicting about it ….. just the chemistry between all the cast members…. it’s actually hard to think of Leah and Kevin not being married and Ray and Debra… I do not like the chemistry between Kevin and his new wife….dullllllllll…did not like episode tonight…… so far I think it stinks…… Read more »
I just watched the pilot. The show stinks nothing original an insult to audience intelligence.
