Tim Allen’s second long-running ABC sitcom has come to a close. His Last Man Standing TV show has been cancelled so there won’t be a seventh season on ABC. The ABC family sitcom follows straight-talker Mike Baxter (Tim Allen), a man surrounded by women.
Last Man Standing also stars Nancy Travis, Molly Ephraim, Kaitlyn Dever, Amanda Fuller, Jordan Masterson, Flynn Morrison, Jonathan Adams, Christoph Sanders, and Hector Elizondo.
Last Man Standing: A Look at the Ratings
The sixth season of Last Man Standing averaged a 1.15 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.41 million viewers. Compared to the fifth season, that’s down by 5% in both measures.
Although when sorted by ratings demo numbers Last Man Standing ranks 12th among the 25 scripted ABC TV shows we’re tracking, in terms of average total audience size it’s a top three show. That’s pretty good for Friday nights, when the audience is smaller.
In addition to performing solidly for ABC, Last Man Standing does well in syndication.
Unfortunately, ABC does not share in those syndication profits since the series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. In the past, the network had negotiated with the studio to secure lower licensing fees. This time around, there was no last-minute bargaining.
There’s been no news of trying to shop the series elsewhere but, if the studio and creatives are willing to make the jump, Last Man Standing seems like a natural candidate to move to a streaming or cable outlet.

This is awful. All the stupid unfunny shows that got renewed and the best got cancelled. Who decides this? They obviously don’t do surveys with tv watchers or at is show would stay. There’s been press that this is a political issue due to the comments on the show, which is part of what makes it funny.
Is there a way it can be saved. Please give us a chance to get it back somewhere. GreAt show. Hey

Please bring back this show. Good family show. Loved how they included religion. People over 50 loved this show too. We watch the reruns over and over and still laugh. I found nothing offensive about this show. It’s life as it is.
We loved Last Man Standing. Looked forward to watching it on Friday night. I’ve seen many shows which attacked conservative views and everybody thought they were hilarious. Tim Allen’s conservative views should have had nothing to do with whether the show was renewed or not. The show was simply funny as is always the case with Tim. Maybe he should go a little easier on salary requests but we have liked both of his long running shows. It’s a shame that the series ended.
Didn’t fox consider airing this show on their network? Even though it was Aired on ABC, Fox is the Company who owns the show. I also heard CMT considered picking up the show, but Tim’s salary request was too much for them. I agree with Terry, Republican or not the show was funny. ABC needs to own up to the real reason for the cancellation, they didn’t like the way Tim talked about Obama. If it were Trump he was talking about, they’d give Tim any figure he came up with. Please un-cancel the show. We are not republicans but we found the show funny and thought provoking. A funny way of looking at our ever changing society.

We love this family show. Hard to find good shows for the family to watch together. Please don’t cancel or maybe another channel could pick it up. It is funny, good clean Program. We need more shows like this…
Cancelled? This is some bubblegum bull crap. This is a great family show. This is an awesome and entertaining family show. Who bumped their head on a big brick by not saving the show? Please, bring it back!

Last Man Standing should not have been cancelled. It is a good family show. The latest stuff that is coming on TV is all about blood, gore and being freaky. I am so sick of these types of shows being aired and more keep coming! The good wholesome shows are being cancelled with little good programming left to watch. I hope another channel picks this show up.
Last Man Standing is one of the shows that should not be cancelled, is just shows that network don’t no what they are doing. This is a funny family show. They need to keep it going. ABC get a grip and start listing to your viewers!!!
