Tim Allen’s second long-running ABC sitcom has come to a close. His Last Man Standing TV show has been cancelled so there won’t be a seventh season on ABC. The ABC family sitcom follows straight-talker Mike Baxter (Tim Allen), a man surrounded by women.
Last Man Standing also stars Nancy Travis, Molly Ephraim, Kaitlyn Dever, Amanda Fuller, Jordan Masterson, Flynn Morrison, Jonathan Adams, Christoph Sanders, and Hector Elizondo.
Last Man Standing: A Look at the Ratings
The sixth season of Last Man Standing averaged a 1.15 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.41 million viewers. Compared to the fifth season, that’s down by 5% in both measures.
Although when sorted by ratings demo numbers Last Man Standing ranks 12th among the 25 scripted ABC TV shows we’re tracking, in terms of average total audience size it’s a top three show. That’s pretty good for Friday nights, when the audience is smaller.
In addition to performing solidly for ABC, Last Man Standing does well in syndication.
Unfortunately, ABC does not share in those syndication profits since the series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. In the past, the network had negotiated with the studio to secure lower licensing fees. This time around, there was no last-minute bargaining.
There’s been no news of trying to shop the series elsewhere but, if the studio and creatives are willing to make the jump, Last Man Standing seems like a natural candidate to move to a streaming or cable outlet.

Always great humour and well done. Too bad Tim Allen was a strong Republican … this may have been the death knoll for this show with the idiot Republican who is now in office. So sad!
One of the few shows worth watching. I was looking forward to Tim Allen making fun of The Donald.
The politics that stopped this highly rated and watched program shows how deep the politics at ABC run. The American people love this program but the executives would rather smooch their liberal buddies than give IN to AMERICA. It is truly one more negative for ABC. We watched…now you lost us.
Please bring back this show. I looked forward, every week, to seeing it. It was intelligent, funny and real. It was wonderful.
This show is one of the few shows that I watched. I really enjoyed it because it is actually funny and it’s clean, which is rare these days. Please reconsider canceling this show.

Why are the comedy shows being canceled and some silly monster or other shows that are not funny and have no meaning L M S is a clean funny show and it will be a shame to cancel it, I will be going to the cable shows before I would watch reality shows and other nonsense, I think it’s a mistake to cancel this show.

I always enjoy watching last man standing.
A very good series covering a lot of real life experiences. I’m saddened that there is not going to be a 7th series picked up by another network even.
Forget the political jokes the show is just plain funny and entertainment. It needs to stay on TV forever. In fact make it a one hour show 7 days per week and get rid of some of the C___ that passes for comedy.
Please bring back last man standing!!!!
