Tim Allen’s second long-running ABC sitcom has come to a close. His Last Man Standing TV show has been cancelled so there won’t be a seventh season on ABC. The ABC family sitcom follows straight-talker Mike Baxter (Tim Allen), a man surrounded by women.
Last Man Standing also stars Nancy Travis, Molly Ephraim, Kaitlyn Dever, Amanda Fuller, Jordan Masterson, Flynn Morrison, Jonathan Adams, Christoph Sanders, and Hector Elizondo.
Last Man Standing: A Look at the Ratings
The sixth season of Last Man Standing averaged a 1.15 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.41 million viewers. Compared to the fifth season, that’s down by 5% in both measures.
Although when sorted by ratings demo numbers Last Man Standing ranks 12th among the 25 scripted ABC TV shows we’re tracking, in terms of average total audience size it’s a top three show. That’s pretty good for Friday nights, when the audience is smaller.
In addition to performing solidly for ABC, Last Man Standing does well in syndication.
Unfortunately, ABC does not share in those syndication profits since the series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. In the past, the network had negotiated with the studio to secure lower licensing fees. This time around, there was no last-minute bargaining.
There’s been no news of trying to shop the series elsewhere but, if the studio and creatives are willing to make the jump, Last Man Standing seems like a natural candidate to move to a streaming or cable outlet.

What a great family sitcom. Allen at his best. Guess if it wasn’t for all those joke lines against Democrats, this series would have been around for years. Sign of the times, but so sad !!!
I loved Tim Allen’s Last man standing. Smart, witty and to the point. And held my attention on Friday evening. Why would they cancel it?? Too straight forward maybe?
I”m so upset! Tim Allen is one of the funniest men on TV! The whole cast is fantastic especially Nancy Travis and Hector Elizondo. Theres no end to the laughs…and everyone needs more laughs these days. It’s a show the entire family can enjoy. Please bring it back !

ABC = anything but conservative humor. The biggest programming debacle since NBC cancelled Star Trek. ABC will try to revive the show but using a all black cast that’ll be Anti-Trump. It’ll happen at the beginning of his second term.

I loved this show. DVR reruns to watch all the time. I had heard that Tim thought he got cancelled because of his political beliefs! I hope that’s not true. I rarely agreed with his politics but that was so much of the fun & quick wit of this show & besides that, IT’S A TV SHOW, for.heavens sake. It’s ok to not agree on every little thing. I can’t understand why Last man standing. Is being cancelled! I loved this show! It is real life! I seem to watch the cable TV programs but with Last man standing it was the only time I would fine my self watching one of the major TV station like ABC. This show needs to come back! It is when good shows like this one is being cancelled, that no one watches TV stations like ABC any more and go to cable instead. Way to go ABC!

Personally I hope HULU or Netflix pick it up!!! Its a great show for families and you don’t get that anymore……..
