Tim Allen’s second long-running ABC sitcom has come to a close. His Last Man Standing TV show has been cancelled so there won’t be a seventh season on ABC. The ABC family sitcom follows straight-talker Mike Baxter (Tim Allen), a man surrounded by women.
Last Man Standing also stars Nancy Travis, Molly Ephraim, Kaitlyn Dever, Amanda Fuller, Jordan Masterson, Flynn Morrison, Jonathan Adams, Christoph Sanders, and Hector Elizondo.
Last Man Standing: A Look at the Ratings
The sixth season of Last Man Standing averaged a 1.15 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.41 million viewers. Compared to the fifth season, that’s down by 5% in both measures.
Although when sorted by ratings demo numbers Last Man Standing ranks 12th among the 25 scripted ABC TV shows we’re tracking, in terms of average total audience size it’s a top three show. That’s pretty good for Friday nights, when the audience is smaller.
In addition to performing solidly for ABC, Last Man Standing does well in syndication.
Unfortunately, ABC does not share in those syndication profits since the series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. In the past, the network had negotiated with the studio to secure lower licensing fees. This time around, there was no last-minute bargaining.
There’s been no news of trying to shop the series elsewhere but, if the studio and creatives are willing to make the jump, Last Man Standing seems like a natural candidate to move to a streaming or cable outlet.

They can’t cancel LMS it is one of the best shows out there hopefully someone else will pick it up.
I really hate to hear this. Last Man Standing is the best comedy show on TV – so much better than the new ones. It is not only a comedy, it has moral and family values and clean language. Who keeps making these stupid decisions??

ABC cancelled LAST MAN STANDING , not a wise decision , but they will keep Dr Ken and Blackish on , 2 of the worst shows on TV.
Time to look for a new network .

ABSOLUTELY keep “Last Man Standing” on TV! We always watch the show and all the Monday through Friday reruns on CMT from about 5:00-8:00p ET we can possibly find time for! It’s the best show on! I don’t care what channel just renew it and keep it on!
This was and is one finest sitcoms ever. It belongs on any TOP 10, 25, 50, etc.. The writing was fantastic. Probably the best ever on a sitcom. I used to say that about Fraser. But “Last Man” handily beats ever Fraser. All the characters are rich and full. There aren’t any there just to victims of jokes or snide remarks. There was a diversity of thinking among the characters. And that made this more real than most of all the programs on TV. I loved this show! I also got my daughter to start watching it and she loved it as well. This is a very family-friendly comedy and there are no others like it that I have seen. I guess the family demographic just doesn’t matter anymore. The more trash you put on TV, the more likely I am to only watch streaming shows and movies. This was the only show I watched on TV on a regular basis. Shame on you! I am really hoping it gets picked up elsewhere.

It figures, probably one of the few comedies that is actually worth watching and it gets cancelled. My wife and I watch it in reruns and I hope it gets picked up.

What is ABC thinking?? This is a great show – one that our whole family looks forward to watching. I sure hope another network picks this up.
It’s because Tim has Republican views. Why else would they cancel this great show. They don’t care what the fans like. So sad.
