Word is circulating today that Legend of the Seeker has been cancelled after two seasons. There hasn’t been an official announcement yet but it doesn’t look like there will be a third season.
Legend of the Seeker is a fantasy series about a young woodsman (Craig Horner) who discovers he is actually destined to be a heroic Seeker. The series also stars Bridget Regan, Bruce Spence, Craig Parker, and Kevin J. Wilson.
Things haven’t been looking so good for the syndicated series for awhile. The ratings had dropped and, last month, the Tribune company (which owns a lot of local stations that air LOS) decided not to pick it up for a third year.
ABC Studios and show producers said that the show had not being cancelled yet and that the studio was searching for other local stations to fill in for the Tribune stations.
There had been unofficial word that that process was going well. However, now it seems that ABC couldn’t find enough takers for LOS.
Sad as this news might be, it doesn’t come as a big surprise. The season’s viewership started at about 2.5 million in November and the April 10th episode barely brought in two million. That’s not an attractive trend for a new buyers.
Hopefully, the producers will be able to include some degree of closure to the final episode.
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear there won’t be a third season of Legend of the Seeker?

My ABC local station just picked it up does that mean anything? They wouldn’t be up the show if it’s canceled. TNT, I see it going their.
since it been on me and my stepson and my adopted son watch all time it something we do together because there into larpingand i get too enjoy the fantasy with them.
This show is great. It has everything you want in a show. It takes your mind off wahts going on in the world. Please leave the show on.
really upset, I really enjoy this show esp. after working it is a great way to relax. I hope this show continues. Perhaps a better time would help or more advertising.
I am very sorry that they are cancelling “legend of the Seeker”. My children and many of their friends that are college-aged watched it. I did also. However, I was probably the only one of those who actually watched it when it was on. In our area, it was aired Saturday night at 8 pm; not the best time for young people. Instead, they watched it on Hulu or other on-line ways. Somehow, the networks are going to have to get with it and realize that the young people of today have learned to accomodate in my ways including being… Read more »

i just caught the show a few epps back and have been watching since. its actually a bit addicting, yes i grew up on shows like hercules and xena, so it was really nice to find something similar so to speak.. a good fantasy show. I’m really disapointed if they cancel it, seems to happen to all great shows, so what if its got a slow spell, it will pick up, run a advetizing campain and dont air it in the middle of the night. maybe schi-fi will pick up new epps? I can only hope.
Down ABC and Disney. No Cancellen “THe legend of the seeker”.
I am devistated. Legend of the Seeker is the best and the only unique show on air. All of the other television shows suck. ABC’s line-up boring, NBC’s line-up is crap, CBS’s line-up pointless, and the CW shows are all the same, sex-raged teens. They need to give this show a chance, because the cast is the best any show has ever had and it’s the only show I look forward to watching. Come on, it’s made by the same people who gave us SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND!!!!! (also a great show from begining to end) Stop cancelling shows that… Read more »
I think the first season was weaker than the second has been. Tabrett as Cara really lifts the series up. She’s an amazing actress. But it does suffers from less Craig Parker who was the other standout.
انه لمن المؤسف ان لا يكون هناك موسم ثالث من legend of the seeker نرجو ان يكون هناك موسم ثالث لانه مسلسل شيق جدا
Yes sad and angry. Why bother watching any new show these days when it gets cancelled if it doesn’t pull in 5.5 million a week? It’s ridiculous to air a show at 1 a.m. and expect to draw huge numbers. As far as I’m concerned getting 2 to 2.5 million at 1 in the morning is pretty good. No support. No support at all from anyone for such a great show. It’s unbelievable. Every year there are less and less shows worthy of watching and when one does finally come along – IT’S CANCELLED! Last week’s ep and this week’s… Read more »
I’m quite obsessed with this show. It is on par with another show as my favourite of all time. I don’t understand why it’s not getting the viewers. Maybe if they put it on at a better time, or actually aired it, they’d get a different response. (I live in Western Australia and it’s not even shown over here unless you have Foxtel…) I’m very sad if this report turns out to be true.
I can’t imagine life without this show… it’s the best we never had, I’v lost my grand father this time, and then, this show was the only moment to forget just for 45 minutes my pain. I can’t anderstand why they stop the show, I’m just a french fan, but my heart was broken..
I’ve said it before and I guess I can say it again but the series was a cut above the books (this coming from one who read the books prior and didn’t even know a television series was in development initially). I’m sure the serious hardcore book-only snobs will pick apart that statement but I stick by it, even if I don’t feel like defending it. It was no Hercules or Xena but it was good enough Saturday filler (what the heck else is there worth the time on Saturdays anyway?). Some shining light, I guess, should be that this… Read more »
