While the second season of Legend of the Seeker is still airing, a significant decision has already been made about the possibility of season three.
Legend of the Seeker is a fantasy series about a young woodsman (Craig Horner) who discovers he is actually destined to be a heroic Seeker. The series also stars Bridget Regan, Bruce Spence, Craig Parker, and Kevin J. Wilson.
The show is produced by ABC Studios and airs in syndication, primarily running on stations owned by the Tribune Company. The show debuted on November 1, 2008 and was renewed for second season after just 10 episodes had aired.
Season two kicked off on November 7, 2009 and now, after 13 episodes have aired, Tribune has decided they’ve had enough. According to KsiteTV and a representative of Tribune, the show’s ratings haven’t been good enough for them to renew Legend of the Seeker for season three.

While ABC has not made an announcement that the show has been cancelled, the Tribune Company represents a large percentage of stations that carry the series. ABC will have to do a lot of legwork to get it picked up by enough other stations.
The big questions are if the ratings are good enough for other stations to want to pick up the show and if the revenue will warrant ABC keeping the show going.
Co-Executive Producer Mike Sussman isn’t ready to give up just yet. Yesterday, he twittered a photo his show’s hero with his favorite Mark Twain quote, “The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.”
The remaining episodes of season two kick off on March 20th.
What do you think? Should Legend of the Seeker survive to see a third season?

I don’t understand why the good shows get cancelled. I loved Legend of the Seeker, I bummed out that it was cancelled. I am always so scared to get involved with good shows because I know they usually get cancelled like Firefly. Maybe the Scfy channel will pick this one up like Merlin.
we in sweden love legend of the seeker watch it all the time pls we need more of it
I agree that it airs at times that most viewers wouldn’t watch– I have paid for all the episodes from I Tunes for both seasons and watch it when I have the time! It airs in my city on Sunday at 5 PM, and also sometime on Sat afternoon. Both are NOT prime time and it should be on Prime Time.
PLEASE KEEP MY FAVORITE SHOW ON THE AIR !
I think the problem is the time slot, 6pm on a Saturday evening. I think a lot of people are watching it online instead of when it airs. That’s how I’ve been following it. Start a writing campaign to save the show.
plz leave legend of the seeker on excellent show. great action and acting. great story line will miss it if it goes
NO!!!! This can’t be cancelled! 🙁 Sure, it’s different from the books – it HAS to be, to fit into an episodic format – but it’s still better than the other trash taking over the television!
i was a lil pissed the books was so much dirrent..but i love the show and if it brings more people to read the books good…. check out the terry goodkinds facebook page there is a website to save the seeker….. and he feels the same he personally responded to a email to him bi***ing bout the changes made for t.v. wow i was blown away
I love this show! It is the greatest fantasy adventure show since Hercules and Zena! Just advertise the show more to get more of an audience!

Well.. I watch the show, I liked it on season one till the 10th episode where I saw the producers or whoever wrote the script transmogrify it.
I kept watching tough, even till now, wondering and expecting something “book alike”. Maybe if they would stick with the book, well and not modify it in such a hard way, they ratings will be better. If the producers are gonna give it a turn into what the series should look and be, then I will support a third season, otherwise, RIP in ABC’s shelves.
Keep the show please!!! I beg you ABC!
It can’t be cancelled!!! I love this show; it is one of my favorite shows!! Please another season??
I think legend of the seeker should definately have a third season its an amazing show
I’ve just voted for keeping the show.98% of votes agree….how are the claimed ratings so low? How can they keep all this other crap thats on tv these days and kill off the shows that are enjoyable to watch..(reality shows have definitly over done it now!!!!, especially all those shows on mtv!!!!!sorry mtv, but “date my mom” really????)LOTS is an excellent show…i dont watch alot of tv, but lots is one show that i sit and watch…Same type of fantasy as lotr…enjoyable, mystical, interesting–every show keeps me wanting more..come on people at ABC..do the right thing…..
The Tribune stations never really gave the show a chance to succeed. In my area, the show only aired at 12:35 AM on Sunday and Monday mornings. That’s 35 minutes after midnight, on nights where most viewers go to bed early for church (Sunday morning) or for work (Monday morning). What chance did the show possibly have with scheduling like that??? There were two things that could have helped the show: Airing it at more sensible times, and airing it in HD. Here’s a question, though: ABC itself owns a considerable television network, as well as major cable channels. Why… Read more »
I agree,
I barley ever watched the show right when it aired because i would have to get up for school in the morning and didn’t want to stay up that late.
I was only able to watch it on hulu, which made me sad because i don’t know if they record that into the total people that watched it.
I support this show completely, its awesome, but they never gave it a chance.
