While the second season of Legend of the Seeker is still airing, a significant decision has already been made about the possibility of season three.
Legend of the Seeker is a fantasy series about a young woodsman (Craig Horner) who discovers he is actually destined to be a heroic Seeker. The series also stars Bridget Regan, Bruce Spence, Craig Parker, and Kevin J. Wilson.
The show is produced by ABC Studios and airs in syndication, primarily running on stations owned by the Tribune Company. The show debuted on November 1, 2008 and was renewed for second season after just 10 episodes had aired.
Season two kicked off on November 7, 2009 and now, after 13 episodes have aired, Tribune has decided they’ve had enough. According to KsiteTV and a representative of Tribune, the show’s ratings haven’t been good enough for them to renew Legend of the Seeker for season three.

While ABC has not made an announcement that the show has been cancelled, the Tribune Company represents a large percentage of stations that carry the series. ABC will have to do a lot of legwork to get it picked up by enough other stations.
The big questions are if the ratings are good enough for other stations to want to pick up the show and if the revenue will warrant ABC keeping the show going.
Co-Executive Producer Mike Sussman isn’t ready to give up just yet. Yesterday, he twittered a photo his show’s hero with his favorite Mark Twain quote, “The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.”
The remaining episodes of season two kick off on March 20th.
What do you think? Should Legend of the Seeker survive to see a third season?

common ABC you all have trouble recognizing good shows with large audiences..First Kyle XY on ABC Family now The Seeker as well as many more. Are you worried that a few good shows might make you look good or what.. Get with it start listening to your viewers
I just discovered “Legend of the Seeker” on Netflix a couple of weeks ago. I’ve already watched season 1, just ordered it on DVD, and am planning to purchase season 2 when it comes out on DVD in September. Please ABC — give us a season 3 of this excellent show!
hey everyone!! ya iv been watching th show for a while now and ilove this show!!! unfortunatley i dnt live in th usa so i dnt think th ratings fr it count here =(!!!
bt maybe if abc put on better channels and better timings theyll see hw GREAT it is!!! im also reading th books and theyr awesome and itll b a real shame if th show gets cancelled!!!
Love the show! I don’t want it to be cancelled!
This show was never as good as it could have been. The books were so many levels deeper and had a very different feel than this show could be in the syndicated world. When George RR Martins Song of Ice and fire hits HBO next year, I hope the teeth aren’t pulled like they were in LOTR. Now the prospect of Starz doing a Sword of Truth reboot, especially after seeing their willingness to tell a truly violent story in an equally violent way (Spartacus), would be what most of TGs fans want. I’d even be willing to suspend my… Read more »
I didn’t even know of the existence of the show until it was recommended on Netflix based on my other ratings. I’ve watched both seasons over the last week and half. The acting and story has improved since the beginning; and I agree that the poor ratings must have to do with the hour of the day in which it is shown. If the station wants better ratings for its shows, people need to be informed the program is playing and have a viable time to watch it.
This show is so good, it shouldn’t be cancelled! I only got into it after it was dumped unfortunately. 🙁 It’s a great show, if it wasn’t aired at the most horrific times I’m sure it would have higher ratings. I’m so sick of all the stupid vampire shows, why doesn’t syfi pick this show up? They could play it on weekends and get rid of at least an hour of the crappy movie marathons they have over the weekends…
Why would anyone ever think of cancelling this show?! It’s nice to see something on tv besides the same old crime dramas and silly sitcoms. Legend of the Seeker is a fantastic show that leaves you wanting more after each episode. The plot takes so many twists and turns that the show always stays exciting. And talk about those amazing fight scenes! Some of the best I’ve ever seen. Please keep this show on the air!
Legend of the Seeker is everything about good and evil. Good should triumph and does no matter how many obstacles are put in it’s path. Way different than anything else on TV. Enough of the dr. shows and crime dramas. This is different and should stay. The acting is superior from everyone in the cast.
Please keep this show going. There are more people out there that like it than you think.
Wow, I really hope this show comes back for another season – it’s just not right cutting it off now.
I don’t care much for TV, or magic, or fantasy stories. But the Legend of the Seeker has drawn me in because it is intelligent and exciting, far superior to anything in the past. Twists and turns and surprises keep coming, and I love it. I haven’t been impressed with fantasy since the Lord of the Rings. Keep the show going!
Please don’t cancelle this show. I love it.
I cannot believe this! I just watched this show on CW last Thursday for the first time, and I was HOOKED! I watched ALL of the episodes of Season 1 since Monday of this week… That’s how good this show is! I have never seen a show much more captivating then this.. and this isn’t coming from a history nerd or whatever, this is coming from a cheerleader! I’m sick of vampire **** EVERYWHERE and all the other crappy shows on TV now! This TV series has an awesome plot and beautiful effects.. Please bring it back! It’s my favorite!… Read more »
i Love this show! they cant possibly have cancelled it! 🙁
Just read the comments, check the polls, I haven’t seen one person say they don’t want to see it return! Clearly the number of viewers is high! This site is only one of a large number of sites showing how much viewers enjoy this show. I have to say that I’m a bit disappointed by the line up of shows for the next coming seasons including V, (an alien show… aliens, really?) and a new super hero show (which might I saw looks excessively cheesy) and we are losing a good number of quality shows. I hate to see this… Read more »
