Variety reports TNT has cancelled three of their series: Legends, Public Morals, and Agent X.
The announcement comes on the same day the network granted season renewals for The Librarians, Major Crimes, and Murder in the First.
Starring Sean Bean, Legends’ second season premiered in November, after a complete series revamp. Ratings were poor for season one, with an average viewership of only 1.53 million. But even with a new showrunner and serialized approach to the spy drama, the second season has not fared much better in the ratings.
TNT’s new historical cop drama Public Morals debuted in August. However, the freshman series starring Ed Burns as a member of NYPD’s Public Morals Division in the 1960s, performed even worse in the ratings than season two of Legends. Season one only garnered an average 18-49 demo rating of .15 and an average of 880,000 total viewers.
TNT’s other freshman series, Agent X, premiered in November. The series, which stars Sharon Stone as a new Vice President in charge of a secret operative, has fared better than the first season of Public Morals in the ratings, but not by much. With only three episodes left, the series has averaged a total of 1.066 million viewers.
Legends ends it second season on December 28th, while Agent X ends is first and only season on December 27th.
What do you think? Did you watch either Legends, Public Morals, or Agent X? Are you disappointed they were cancelled?
Dang….first the PLAYER…now AGENT X! I give up. All the ones that I seem to get attached to never get a chance.
To be honest, I can only half agree with you on that. “The Player” was ‘alright’ at best. IMO, the show did not have enough ‘weight’ to carry it. Now, Agent X.. That is an entirely different tale altogether.
A major mistake by TNT! I liked Public Morals, but Legends was extraordinary. Riveting story, great acting by Sean Bean and all, intricate plot, terrific outcomes, And on and on, nothing but superlatives. I am totally bummed out there will be no third season. C’mon TNT, how about treating your audience with respect and give us this quality show back? Reconsider, please.
I really hope another channel or Netflix picks up Agent X. I thought it was a great show. The cast was well picked and the characters well developed.
Maybe Netflix I’ll pick it up they seem to pick winners
Why do you keep cancelling shows once you get folks “hooked”. This is getting really aggravating.
Hope someone picks up Agent X. Loved it and really want to see more. Can’t believe TNT has no clue they have a winner.
I am AMAZED that both Legends and Agent X have been cancelled. What is TNT thinking? With the exception of Major Crimes, what does this channel have to offer? NOTHING!
I absolutely love Agent X. It is really a shame that it is being cancelled. I have not seen a show that is witty and well written as this in a long time. TNT definitely needs to rethink their stance on this show. Hopefully another network will scoop this show up.
We loved Legends & Agent X , hate to see those shows leave.
I’m tired of network put on shows, and then pull them off after one or two seasons. The shows be good.
I watch Agent X and love it. Hoping someone else will pick it up.
It was a shame Agent X was cancelled. Many people tape the show as it doesn’t fit their schedule for many reasons. In my case I watch it with my elderly father. We loved it.
We like Legends. Writers messed up the shows of this season with too many flashbacks. Bring it back sans flashbacks.
Thought Agent X was a great show. Its a shame they keep cancelling quality shows.
Just a shame about Agent X. Great show. Great action. Great cast. Another good show gone. Can they give anything good & smart a chance?
Very disappointed ting TNT. I’m not going to invest in any more shows on this network till they leave one more than 1 season.
