What’s in store for the series finale of Life in Pieces? Recently, creator Justin Adler spoke with TVInsider about the end of the CBS TV show.
The family sitcom, which is currently in its fourth and final season, follows four branches of the Short family tree. Although they’re a big happy clan, that doesn’t mean there are no awkward moments amidst their funny and moving milestones. The cast includes Dianne Wiest, James Brolin, Zoe Lister-Jones, Colin Hanks, Angelique Cabral, Thomas Sadoski, Betsy Brandt, Dan Bakkedahl, Niall Cunningham, Holly J. Barrett, Giselle Eisenberg, and Hunter King.
In the interview, Adler revealed the upcoming Life in Pieces series finale was “never designed as a series finale.” So what can fans expect from the end of the CBS TV show?
Adler says a job opportunity for Matt (Sadoski) will test his relationship with Colleen (Cabral):
Just as he finally has a family, a dream job threatens to separate him from those he loves most. It felt real to us.”
The series finale of Life in Pieces debuts on CBS tonight, June 27th, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
What do you think? Do you watch Life in Pieces? Would you have watched a fifth season?
This is an “A” list cast with great writing. Maybe ABC could pick it up as a replacement for Modern Family.
As a series finale the episode was almost as disappointing as the fact that an excellently funny show like Life in Pieces is prematurely cancelled while Modern Family (which hasn’t been funny since season 6) gets 11 seasons and a chance to end properly.
I loved watching Life in Pieces and have since the pilot episode! Makes no sense that shows like Big Brother are still on the air and thoughtful, creative shows like Life in Pieces are gone after only 4 seasons! I want to know what happens in these characters’ lives next. How can you introduce new twists & turns in their lives and drop the story there? Please bring it back for, at the very least, one more season to button things up! I really hate how you left it.
I love this show! Why would you take it off. I definitely would have watched a fifth season
I love Life in pieces. Please give it a fifth season
I love this show. It is too bad it got cancelled.
One of the best comedies. Why would such a gem get cancelled??
Yup, it doesn’t make sense!
Best show in tv in many years
I am horrified to see the series end and hope that they change their minds! My husband and I laughed so hard at the antics of these people, I hate to see it end.
It’s really sad how many wonderful shows get axed when so much crap stays on the air. I had no idea this was the series finale, and I could not be more disappointed!! This is a fun, light-hearted, yet touching, show. It will be sorely missed. Way to cancel one of the best comedies on TV, CBS!
This is one of our favorite shows. Please don’t end it!
Absolutely pissed this show is cancelled…it needs to continue…cue Netflix or one of the other networks that sees the talent and relatability of this show..
No no no say it and not so!
My wife and I enjoyed the show. It was much better than many others out there.
It came as a shock that the show was canceled
If the ratings were were the deciding factor to its cancellation I don’t think it was helped at all by CBS bringing it in late season.
Most people were not even aware it was on this season.
Why would you cancel the best show on TV
Loved this show! What a tacky way to end it. Cobbled- together finale was a sad death.
I agree. This was the most original show on TV and deserved much better than it got from CBS. Five nights a week for Love ISalnd but you cancel THIS gem?
They didn’t. They canceled Life in Pieces. ; )
