It looks like the story of the Sutton clan has come to an end. ABC Family has quietly decided to cancel Lincoln Heights after four seasons.
Lincoln Heights tells the story of Officer Eddie Sutton (Russell Hornsby) who moves his family back to his old neighborhood. Other castmembers include Erica Hubbard, Nikki Micheaux, Rhyon Brown, Mishon Ratliff, Robert Adamson, and Michael Reilly Burke.
The TV show debuted on January 8, 2007 and the first season was successful enough to warrant a renewal by March. At that point, it was one of the cable channel’s higher performers in the key demographics.
While announcing that the second season would kick off in September 2007, ABC Family President Paul Lee said, “We really think we have something unique here… The fact that it’s an African American family drama alone separates it from the crowd, but its terrific cast and superb writing also make it truly special and perfect for ABC Family.”

Following season two, it took several months for ABC Family to decide to bring Lincoln Heights back for a third round. They finally did and that kicked off in September 2008. The audience grew and the show became the cable channel’s top performer among Females 12-34 and Female teens. It didn’t take as long to renew the series for year four.
Season four kicked off in September 2009. It ended up being one of the channel’s weaker programs of 2009, being outperformed by other ABC Family shows, including cancelled Kyle XY.
No specific reason was given for the Lincoln Heights cancellation. However, though it’s been favored by some critics, the series has never been a big hit for the cable channel and has only been given 10 episode renewals each season.

I was watchen this on Netflix I didn’t think I woulda got into it but I did after the 1st show. Took me a week to watch all 4s I wish they would bring it back my 9 year old son and I would watch it. Plus there’s not Alotta shows out there like this
i watched all 4 seasons in less then a week i loved that show its was a great show and needs to come back on abc family
I just got done watching all of the seasons on Netflix. I never heard of this show before. But after i watched the first episode i couldn’t to watching it. Its such a great show! I love it. Theres not many African-American shows out there. They really need to bring this show back. I say go for 100 more episodes 🙂 i absolutely love it <3
I want more Lincoln Heights. This is one of the best series I have watched. One that brought family time to my home. All my kids said they they didn’t like it and when I would put it on in my room all my kids including my 4 year old would all crawl up and get comfortable and we would watch hours of this show. Bring back Lincoln Heights we love this show and would appreciate more episodes.
Myself, my husband, and our 9 yr. old son are almost finished watching all 4 seasons on netflix. I hate the fact that this series is no longer in existence. This show is a wonderful example of family, community, and humanity. As an African- American mother and wife, I am proud to watch a show with my son that we can actually discuss afterward, learn something from, and enjoy watching together. Not many shows today depict such a family dynamic as Lincoln Heights.

I started watchin linclon heights on netflix last wk and finishd all four seasons in jus 1 wk, i am addicted i love it, and i hate the way it finished there was no close to it, i would to have 1 more season
I started watching this series on Netflix and was hooked from the first episode. Now op bring back atleast one more season to bring closing to the show and family.
Understand that for some of us they become our family too.
Which is a great compliment to the writers and cast.

Just watched all 43 episodes on netfix. Cant believe it ended with some many open ends. Maybe it could go to the movie with a season finale to close all the ends.
Did lund die? Does tate make it big, charles go to college, find a new person… does cassie settle down or still being a tramp, what happens with lizzie… wrap it up, bring it back.

I really wish they hadn’t cancelled this show, I wanna know what to do to bring it back. I still watch it on netflix and I get sad every time because I miss it so much. I know it’s been a few years since it last aired but I wanna fight to bring it back.
