It looks like the story of the Sutton clan has come to an end. ABC Family has quietly decided to cancel Lincoln Heights after four seasons.
Lincoln Heights tells the story of Officer Eddie Sutton (Russell Hornsby) who moves his family back to his old neighborhood. Other castmembers include Erica Hubbard, Nikki Micheaux, Rhyon Brown, Mishon Ratliff, Robert Adamson, and Michael Reilly Burke.
The TV show debuted on January 8, 2007 and the first season was successful enough to warrant a renewal by March. At that point, it was one of the cable channel’s higher performers in the key demographics.
While announcing that the second season would kick off in September 2007, ABC Family President Paul Lee said, “We really think we have something unique here… The fact that it’s an African American family drama alone separates it from the crowd, but its terrific cast and superb writing also make it truly special and perfect for ABC Family.”

Following season two, it took several months for ABC Family to decide to bring Lincoln Heights back for a third round. They finally did and that kicked off in September 2008. The audience grew and the show became the cable channel’s top performer among Females 12-34 and Female teens. It didn’t take as long to renew the series for year four.
Season four kicked off in September 2009. It ended up being one of the channel’s weaker programs of 2009, being outperformed by other ABC Family shows, including cancelled Kyle XY.
No specific reason was given for the Lincoln Heights cancellation. However, though it’s been favored by some critics, the series has never been a big hit for the cable channel and has only been given 10 episode renewals each season.

Lincoln Heights was the BEST SHOW EVER on ABC. I would look forward every week to watch this show. I am very disappointed. I have watched every episode since day 1 . I was you guys biggest fan. It kinda was upsetting to know that i couldn’t watch the next episode. I feel like you’ll should do the next season. It probably was the most inspiring show on T.V.. I miss this show a lot. PLEASE FINISH THE SEASON. DO IT FOR YOUR FANS.!!!!!!!!!!!!
Such an amazing show. I hate that its been cancelled, it definitely needs too comeback. I just started watching the show on Netflix, I’m on season 2 now but season 1 definitely drew me in. I wish I would of known about this show before. It sure would’ve had my view. Its got my vote too comeback though, I absolutely love it.
They are right there has to be more to the story. Please bring it back. It has to be one of the most right direction show there is. My parents raised me with the same morals. It helped to know that I wasn’t alone. And that things get better. The show needs to come back to be a role model to the younger generation.

I have sat here and watch all four seasons and me and my family really liked it. It is a shame they took it off the air.My thing is why cant another station pick it up or have it aired on more then one station this would more likely get more people to watch it. I know it has been a few years since the last show but I really think they should bring it back.

I watched all four season on Netflix in literally a week , I was highly disappointed that it ended like that. I want to know what ever happened to Charles and Cassie to Lizzie to taus career to Nate Ray what ever happened to sages father Lund . and needs to renew this show it’s honestly a huge hit !!!! please bring it back
i think it should be a season 5 , when i saw this on netflix the past couple of nights ; i was angry when there was only 4 seasons. it should continue, i wanna know after all did cassie and charles get married. did nate ray ever get the help he needed, what did the sutton family do with the other half of the money that belong to the glass family that c.glass gave to them. it should come back!
The majority of black shows are lowrated, ignorants and a misrepresentation of African American essence. These misinformed shows actually stay on air season after ti season. However Lincoln heights actually showed versatility of African Americans who do not subscribe to the negative actions in the black community. It shows how people deal with real issues optimistically and negatively. it gave many lessons on how to deal with the worst. In retrospect lincoln heights should be on air for many more season instead of these other ones displaying “ratchedness”…
It literally kills me that this show has been cancelled I loved it when it first aired :/
