It looks like the story of the Sutton clan has come to an end. ABC Family has quietly decided to cancel Lincoln Heights after four seasons.
Lincoln Heights tells the story of Officer Eddie Sutton (Russell Hornsby) who moves his family back to his old neighborhood. Other castmembers include Erica Hubbard, Nikki Micheaux, Rhyon Brown, Mishon Ratliff, Robert Adamson, and Michael Reilly Burke.
The TV show debuted on January 8, 2007 and the first season was successful enough to warrant a renewal by March. At that point, it was one of the cable channel’s higher performers in the key demographics.
While announcing that the second season would kick off in September 2007, ABC Family President Paul Lee said, “We really think we have something unique here… The fact that it’s an African American family drama alone separates it from the crowd, but its terrific cast and superb writing also make it truly special and perfect for ABC Family.”

Following season two, it took several months for ABC Family to decide to bring Lincoln Heights back for a third round. They finally did and that kicked off in September 2008. The audience grew and the show became the cable channel’s top performer among Females 12-34 and Female teens. It didn’t take as long to renew the series for year four.
Season four kicked off in September 2009. It ended up being one of the channel’s weaker programs of 2009, being outperformed by other ABC Family shows, including cancelled Kyle XY.
No specific reason was given for the Lincoln Heights cancellation. However, though it’s been favored by some critics, the series has never been a big hit for the cable channel and has only been given 10 episode renewals each season.

Just started watching Lincoln Heights on Netflix. Finished all four seasons and hate it had to end. This show depicts real life problems in our community! I really wish they could bring this show back!
I am watching Lincon Heights on Netflix. I am on the middle of season two, and I am 13. This show, really captures the way reality is this generation. I didn’t realize how good Lincoln Heights was until I started watching the seasons on Netflix. I wish the show could continue to air. During the time when it hit the screen, I was out partying and working. Now that I’m in my 30’s and married with children I hate that I didn’t watch the show when It was airing. I could have spoke about them bringing back a 5th season. ALL THE SEASONS ARE REALLY GOOD! PLEASE BRING IT BACK.
It’s the kind of sitcom you can watch over and over.
Please bring this show back if at all possible! My husband and I just finished the fourth season this morning and it is one of the realistic most touching shows I have ever watched, especially in this day in age! Really nothing to relate to anymore, but this show is it!
I liked all four seasons when I had watched them all when they were on tv and I miss watching I mad and disapointed that it was canccled it would be nice for then to bring it back on tv to see.

My Fiance and I just finished watching Lincoln Heights on Netflix. We love the show. We don’t understand why the show ever ended. I would love for this show to continue. Our favorite is Lizzie. Please bring it back!!
I watched this serious on Netflix and fell in love with the show. I would love to see a season finale to end the show properly. If ABC doesn’t want to air a season finale I would love to see Netflix pick it up for a season finale.
I recently finished watching all four seasons of Lincoln Heights on Netflix and I thought it was an excellent show. I was not satisfied with the shows ending. More of what will happen to Cassie and Charles would be extremely interesting and I think showing Lizzie’s performance in the school play would have been great. I say bring the show back and show us how huge Tay got after writing and performing that great song for Nate and all the troops.
I really enjoyed lincoln heights would be great to see more seasons great show loved every episode my wife and I watched this nonstop the show gives u a different out look on life and how family should be with love respect honesty truth this show is hands down my favorite show its a big eye opener to appreciate family friends your kids and spouse we are asking please put this show back on. I just watched the series on Netflix and it was just as good as “Breaking Bad” for me. The show was believable and I loved every single character.
I wish there were more shows. I had given up on cable TV because I didn’t ever see black family series on TV and so for ABC to do this was great! I am going to re-watch it!

My husband and I just started to watch this show in Netflix. It took us less three weeks to see it. We were constantly watching it and enjoying it. This show made a big difference in our life. We came more together as a family and showed us to trust our partners along with our kids. We really need more of this show. I was upset how it ended. PLEASE PUT THIS SHOW BACK ON!!!!
