TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
We really liked this show, first a&e cancelled The Glades, now this.I don’t see any reason to watch A&E anymore……
Why do networks always seem to cancel the good shows?
This was a good TV show, and what happens, it gets canceled.
Why?
I can not believe the network decided to cancel the show. I love the show and hope they change their mind.
Bring back Longmire
I cannot believe a show with great actors and a excellent plot would be cancelled . At least they could have ended the series with a finish instead of a cliff hanger. It just goes to show you that DUMB reality television and badly scripted shows are what the majority of television viewers enjoy. That is just so sad…and too bad for a great show like Longmire.
I promise you that if A&E doesn’t pick that show back up I will never watch another show on their network again. I will watch Longmire on another network if it is picked up, but I will never watch A&E if they don’t. Having said that I will watch A&E if they keep Longmire on.
What is wrong with A&E? This is one of the best things on TV.
I love this show. I am so disappointed that it got cancelled. I am so tired of the normal trash on TV, it was a refreshing and entertaining change.
Please don’t cancel Longmire as it has been a real breath of fresh tv as most of the stuff shown now is reality or Steven King or worse.
A & E better count their blessings with this one cause no one else seems to do any better.
bring back Longmire! I can’t believe you cancelled it!
WOW – seems the good shows get the axe & the stupid reality shows survive. Longmire is one of the GREAT shows – storyline, acting, suspense… it has/had it all!! Why on earth would this be cancelled?
I will truly miss this one!!!!
Longmire is one of the best shows on TV. Can’t believe A&E cancel this great show. Is this the most watch show on A&E ? Why cancel a show that is your number ( 1 show )?
What more could be asked of a show? Beautiful scenery, recognizable characters as well as the actors playing them. Real life situations in an area involving original native Americans and the sometime controversial interactions between them and the law. Friction in the Sheriff’s department involving politics. A wonderful show that kept audiences watching week after week and then what —CANCELLATION. I am for renewal of the series perhaps on a different network. No explanations of the cancellation tells a story of the network cronies themselves.
By cancelling this show proves only one thing, just because you are in charge doesn’t mean you are intelligent enough to make decisions, you had a good thing going and instead of carrying on a good thing, you make a decision to forget about the loyal followers of a great show only because it doesn’t fit what you unknowingly think you know best, what a shame when the public is looking for a show that keeps the public interested in your network, you must be of the liberal mindset, you don’t know what works, oh that’s right liberals don’t understand… Read more »
Now Larry lets not let our personal political views cloud the issue at hand, the cancellation of a really good show. The problem really lies with the morons running the network. They let these young so-called executives run with whatever they think is good programming, unfortunately; it has nothing to do with program quality. They just pick the wrong people to run with the ball. Plain and simple, they pick the wrong people to run the network, total morons.
Please bring Longmire back. It’s one of the best shows by far!!
Hoping they continue this great series! I just LOVE this show and would love more, for a good long time!!!
I’m disappointed about Longmire being axed. It was a good show! Hopefully A&E will get a brain and listen to their customers instead of trying to make their viewers listen to them.
