FOX is going to Hell … again. Today, the network announced they’ve renewed Lucifer for a second season, Variety reports.
The drama stars Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar, the fallen angel who has left his post in Hell to run a Los Angeles nightclub. Lauren German, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, D. B. Woodside, and Scarlett Estevez also star.
Lucifer premiered to favorable ratings, earning a 2.43 in the 18-49 demo and 7.156 million viewers with its January debut. And while ratings have dropped off significantly since then, with an average of 1.55 in the 18-49 demo and around 4.820 million viewers, the series is still one of FOX’s stronger performers.
From Fox entertainment president David Madden:
We knew we had something special with ‘Lucifer,’ from the engaging performances of Tom, Lauren and the rest of the charismatic cast, to Len Wiseman’s visually stunning look of the show and the amazing storytelling savvy of the Bruckheimer team.”
Today, FOX also renewed Rosewood for a second season.
What do you think? Have you been watching Lucifer? Are you glad it’s been renewed?
It’s killing me, I’ve been tuning in to see when the next episode is and it’s not on yet. When is the 2 ND season starting…it’s getting hotter as it becomes more biblically in depth! !!!! I’m trying to convince our pastor to check it out…lol…it is a great combination a historically biblical sherlock
I am thrilled to see that the show Lucifer has been renewed! Thank you Fox!!

Loved watching Lucifer and am excited for season two.
Absolutely loved it! Actually ended up binge watching it all in one night, it’s an incredibly clever and gripping concept and I just fell in love with this personification of Lucifer. The Chloe and Lucifer dynamic is very interesting also and I can’t wait to find out the reason why he is so vulnerable around her, oh and also who on earth is Mom going to be? How exciting!
Love the show! It actually makes you think about good and evil, heaven and hell, and all the possibilities of what God’s plan might be, if there is a God and a plan at all! Love watching the growth and /or development of the characters and I am really interested in finding out why the character Chloe makes Lucifer so vulnerable! Congratulations on Season two!
I love this show. I can’t wait until next season. I hope there are more than 13 episodes for season 2. He is charming and funny and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I love this show!! I think it’s just going to get better and better. It’s one of the only shows I watch on fox.
Lucifer is an awesome show filled with fun characters, clever scripts and allegorical meanings. Engrossed every Monday… excited there is another season! Can’t wait to find out how he deals with “Mom”.
I fell in love with Tom Ellis in RUSH and was furious when it was canceled. Satisfaction over Rush – really? It was such a unique premise. I said it was House on steroids. Then I read Tom had been picked up for a new show. I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic school for 12 years and this show is presented in the best way possible – tongue in cheek. The characters are a good mix and I look forward to it every week. It is so different and just crazy. Keep it coming!!!! If you don’t like… Read more »
Lucifer is a great show I discovered it after it was underway. Now I would like to catch up on any missed episodes. I found the show to be fun, clever, and very engrossing. All the characters bring a special inviting nature to the program. So far the scripts are heading in one direction. Its always disappointing when too many writers are involved and soon a good show loses direction and disintegrates. Thanks for season 2, keep up the good work.
So glad Fox is renewing Lucifer. It’s a great show. I don’t watch much TV, but this show has me hooked. Please keep it going.
