When Lucifer premiered in early 2016, many people wanted the show to be cancelled before they even saw it, at least in part because of the subject matter. While the show’s ratings weren’t great, they were good enough for the FOX series to be renewed. Will it do well enough to get a third season renewal? Stay tuned.
On the Lucifer TV show, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) has abandoned his throne and retired to Los Angeles. Following a brutal murder outside of his nightclub, he starts to have feelings of compassion for the first time in billions of years and ends up helping a homicide detective (Lauren German). In season two, Lucifer and his brother (D. B. Woodside) team up to find their mother (Tricia Helfer) who recently escaped from Hell. The rest of the cast includes Rachael Harris, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Aimee Garcia, and Scarlett Estevez.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
2/13 update: FOX has renewed Lucifer for a third season. Details here.
5/30 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

For comparisons: The first season of Lucifer averaged a 1.47 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.56 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Lucifer TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
Love Lucifer. One of the few current programs I watch.Great cast; all the actors seem like they have great fun playing their roles, especially Tom Ellis. Ine of the very few shows I make a point to watch each week. I do hope Lucifer has many more seasons.
I love Lucifer. The idea that he is misunderstood and is tasked with punishing evil wrong doers rather than being responsible for the worlds evil is great. Not quite the humor of Andy Hamiltons ” Old Harry’s game” but along similar lines.
awesome show, never mind other people don,t like the show they are blind, awesome show the best, hope stays on a long time in ratings winner.
Great show, great cast, now I can look forward 2 Mondays tv entertainment
This TV show is awesome is one of the best TV shows ..
Really love this show. Tom Ellis does a terrific job in the role of a handsome and sexy Lucifer as a misunderstood bad boy who – as Lucifer describes himself – is very misunderstood by humanity because he says he’s not evil, does not make people do evil things, but only punishes evil doers and has been Hell’s jail keeper against his will since he was cast out of Heaven. Now he’s starting to care about people and – and this is very funny – going to a psychologist to try to analyze his new feelings, and getting a buzz… Read more »
What’s funny is how quite a lot of people against this show, are the ones who go see movies like
The Blair wich and paranormal activity and most demonic theme movies .
Yet you say lucifer and all he’ll breaks loose
Lucifer is such a guilty pleasure. With such a sexy Devil is it any wonder that so many of us love it. I love how Lucifer can be so unpredictable that it drives Chloe crazy. This show must stay if not there will be He’ll too pay.
I have really enjoyed the show! This is a TV show for entertainment only, not as news, a documentary or to try and change anyone’s beliefs! The comedy is great! Please keep it!!!
Tom Ellis and D.B. Woodward are just too sexy! Let’s do 10 seasons!
He sure is!!
Me and my parents absolutely love the series Lucifer, we’ve been impatiently waiting for the new season to start. Monday’s season premier was great. Age demographic of viewers 44- 65. Please, please keep the show going.
Plot lines aside, this program is about entertainment. It entertains me so I like it.
Renew! Witty and funny….
Keep the show its TV not real life live a little
When God suddenly got a wife, the plot just strayed too far from traditional legend. Deeply disappointed with Season 2 before it ever started. Kill the show.
Jesus was born with God doing Mary and Joseph is the baby daddy…lol
