TV show description:
This horror black comedy series is based on the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg for DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint. It’s the story of the original fallen angel — Lucifer.
Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) has abandoned his throne and retired to Los Angeles. There, he owns an upscale nightclub named Lux. Charming, charismatic, and devilishly handsome, Lucifer is enjoying his retirement, indulging in a few of his favorite things — wine, women, and song.
His bliss is disturbed when a beautiful pop star is brutally murdered outside of his club. For the first time in roughly 10 billion years, he feels something awaken deep within him as a result of this murder. Could it be (perish the thought) compassion or sympathy?
These thoughts disturb both Lucifer and his best friend and confidante, Mazikeen aka Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt). Maze is a fierce demon who’s taken the form of a beautiful young woman.
The murder outside the club attracts the attention of LAPD homicide detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German). She’s initially dismissive of Lucifer but she soon becomes intrigued by his talent for drawing out people’s secrets. Chloe also likes his desire to dispense justice, doling out punishment to those who deserve it.
As they work together to solve the pop star’s murder, Lucifer is struck by Chloe’s inherent goodness. Accustomed to dealing with the absolute worst of humanity, Lucifer is intrigued by Chloe’s apparent purity and begins to wonder if there’s hope for his own soul yet.
At the same time, God’s emissary, an angel named Amenadiel (DB Woodside), has been sent to Los Angeles to convince Lucifer to return to the underworld.
Can the Devil incarnate be tempted toward the side of Good — or will his original calling pull him back toward Evil?
Episode #93 — Partners ‘Til the End
Desperate to rescue Rory, Lucifer and Chloe confront her kidnapper with guns and wings blazing. Lucifer finally comes to terms with his purpose.
First aired: September 10, 2021.
What do you think? Do you like the Lucifer TV show? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
Please do not cancel it, it one of the most unique tv show I have ever watched.
I think that is why the Luci fan base, while small compared to NCIS, of the show are dedicated fans. We can appreciate the humour, themes, character development, etc. In other words we can take whatever we want from the show.
I certainly hope there is a Season 3 and if FOX were smart they would renew it now.
The show Lucifer is terrrific. Tom Ellis is perfect in the part. The writing is great and Mr Ellis delivers beautiful. Hope he get a to be the next James Bond
It would depend on the route the James Bond creators want to take. Tom Ellis would make a good Bond but so would Richard Armitage.
One of the best shows on TV. I enjoy watching it tremendously. I also enjoy watching Tom Ellis. Good actor playing his part to the fullest.
Very creative and we’ll acted which in this day of mindless reality shows is a blessing from god- no matter who your god is. I’ve never written a
Comment on a tv show , but this is one that needs to be saved amen!
My favorite show. I hope it’s not canceled!!!!
Its a great show …loved it….need to keep going!!! It’s a nice work
Great show. Hope they never cancel it and don’t change the writers. Only flaw; when they showed his real face in the Halloween show. Should have made it a bright light.
What is interesting is that the face we saw in “Monster” is not the same one we saw in “Lucifer, Stay Good Devil” (season 1, episode 2). Perhaps the change in Luci’s true face is a reflection of his growth and development. Personally I found the implacable look Luci has when he first approaches Lindsay in “Manly What-Nots” or squats beside Malcolm as he lays dying is far more scary that the red face. That implacable look tells us that Luci is not just any weirdo but a being not to be trifled with.
Luv the show!!!! Was sooo looking forward to the new season. Please, please do NOT cancel.
We need a little black comedy to lighten things up from all the vampires and messy zombies. Tom Ellis is dangerously sexy. It goes to show that even the devil can have a good side. Lots of fun. Keep it coming.
I loved the final scene with Luci and Chloe in “Quid Pro Ho”. It was like watching two magnets being irresistibly and simultaneously drawn towards each other. No dialogue was necessary to convey what was going on. I think that both are now realising that they care deeply for each other and that it goes beyond friendship. I think when Luci learns just how special Chloe is he’ll be even more intrigued and will want to investigate. Mom and Amenadiel are going to have their work cut out for them if they want to separate Chloe and Luci. As for… Read more »
Fantastic series. We are completely in love with it. Tom Ellis, what an amazing performance. Everybody in UK talking about this show.
Bring on series 4,5….. 10
Ok I am a born again christian so by default I should hate the show. I really liked the show until recently. It was spot on spiritually. Then they bought on the “mother of Lucifer” character. Scripturally incorrect. I still want to see the show I am drawn to it. Maybe it is my dark side. I would love to be on set to give scriptural advise to bring the show back to the roots from season one. I know it will never happen but one can dream.
This is a story about redemption. There is nothing in either the Old or New Testaments that specifically say that God had no wife. In addition the Lucifer mentioned in the Old Testament refers to a dead Babylonian king and in the New Testament Lucifer refers to Christ. It was not until the Middle Ages that Lucifer became equated with the devil. The show addresses many issues, one of which is taking personal responsibility for our actions, another is free will vs predestination. Season 2 is focusing on the push-pull to be either good or bad and if Dad thinks… Read more »
I don’t think the writers will kill Chloe as that would really end the series. We saw how Lucifer acted after Fr. Frank and Uriel died so we can imagine what would happen if Chloe died. All we would get is episode after episode of Luci wreaking havoc and after a few episodes the viewers would stop watching. This series is about redemption and what we see in Season 2 is the push-pull of Lucifer towards good or bad. The relationship between Chloe and Lucifer is the backbone of this series and it would be folly to remove it. If… Read more »
