TV show description:
This horror black comedy series is based on the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg for DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint. It’s the story of the original fallen angel — Lucifer.
Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) has abandoned his throne and retired to Los Angeles. There, he owns an upscale nightclub named Lux. Charming, charismatic, and devilishly handsome, Lucifer is enjoying his retirement, indulging in a few of his favorite things — wine, women, and song.
His bliss is disturbed when a beautiful pop star is brutally murdered outside of his club. For the first time in roughly 10 billion years, he feels something awaken deep within him as a result of this murder. Could it be (perish the thought) compassion or sympathy?
These thoughts disturb both Lucifer and his best friend and confidante, Mazikeen aka Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt). Maze is a fierce demon who’s taken the form of a beautiful young woman.
The murder outside the club attracts the attention of LAPD homicide detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German). She’s initially dismissive of Lucifer but she soon becomes intrigued by his talent for drawing out people’s secrets. Chloe also likes his desire to dispense justice, doling out punishment to those who deserve it.
As they work together to solve the pop star’s murder, Lucifer is struck by Chloe’s inherent goodness. Accustomed to dealing with the absolute worst of humanity, Lucifer is intrigued by Chloe’s apparent purity and begins to wonder if there’s hope for his own soul yet.
At the same time, God’s emissary, an angel named Amenadiel (DB Woodside), has been sent to Los Angeles to convince Lucifer to return to the underworld.
Can the Devil incarnate be tempted toward the side of Good — or will his original calling pull him back toward Evil?
Episode #93 — Partners ‘Til the End
Desperate to rescue Rory, Lucifer and Chloe confront her kidnapper with guns and wings blazing. Lucifer finally comes to terms with his purpose.
First aired: September 10, 2021.
What do you think? Do you like the Lucifer TV show? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
This show makes me laugh to no end. If it is canceled , i’m going to be bored out of my mind .
Please don’t cancel this awesome show.
I hope the writers don’t kill off Linda as that would absolutely ruin the series as Luci would be all about seeking revenge, not punishment and his progress to redemption would be halted. Next to Chloe, Linda is the most important human in his life. While Linda is Luci’s therapist she is also the mother that he never had. It would be cruel to write Linda out of the series and it would be cheating the audience. As for Chloe I just wish that when she sees Luci in emotional distress she wouldn’t just say, “Talk to me” but give… Read more »
NOOOOOO!!!!! don’t cancel it. Tom Ellis is funny and endearing and perfect in his role of Lucifer Morningstar. Please keep this show going.
It’s been renewed for Season 3
Love the show. Bring it back for more seasons.
The final scene in “Sympathy for the Goddess” shows that Amenadiel has just realised what he has done in regards to his brother Luci and just how far he has fallen. I guess we’ll have to wait to see if he can begin redeeming himself or if it is too late for him. While Luci did deserve the treatment he received from both Maze and Linda he is at least a more subdued Lucifer at the end of the episode. He probably has spent the time thinking about what both Maze and Linda said to him. We’ll have to wait… Read more »
LOVE THIS SHOW, lET’S BRING IT BACK FOR SEASON #3
Lucifer has been renewed for Season 3 but FOX hasn’t yet announced the air date.
Love this show so please bring it back. Can’t wait for the Lucifer-Chloe exchange of barbs.
The great thing about their barbs is that they show that each accepts the other as he/she is and aren’t deliberately trying to change the other. They can be more like themselves with each other than they are with any other character. Another great thing about their friendship is that each feels free to walk into the other’s home unannounced.
I like the way the writers are developing the Luci-Chloe relationship: step by step.
RENEW!
If you look at the FOX lineup for the fall Lucifer, Season 3 will be on at 8pm on Mondays.
One of the great things about Lucifer is that we, the audience know what Luci has to do and understand and in many ways he is like the stubborn child who just digs in his heels. One of the things Luci truly doesn’t understand is the concept of “free will” and Linda certainly has her work cut out for her and he still hasn’t realised that Chloe’s choices have been hers and hers alone. Chloe, in her own way shows Luci that she cares for him but Luci hasn’t figured that one out yet. Kudos to the writers for writing… Read more »
“God Johnson”- amazing episode. Hope the writers bring back Timothy Omundson as a recurring character in Season 3. Same thing for Lindsey Gort. Each episode of “Lucifer” keeps getting better and better.
One of the great things about Lucifer is the humour mixed in with the drama and some of the ridiculous plot points. I laughed at the scene in Lux when Luci tells Mom that what he needs is a child; the expression on Mom’s face is priceless when he ups and leaves.
FOX has a diamond in this original show .
Since The Voice is still airing we Canadians get to watch Lucifer on Sunday instead of Monday.
NOOooo. PLEASE DON’T CANCEL THE SHOW
