Is Elizabeth McCord getting the job done during the fifth season of the Madam Secretary TV show on CBS? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Madam Secretary is cancelled or renewed for season six. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we’d like to offer you the chance to rate all the Madam Secretary season five episodes here. *Status update below.
A CBS political thriller, Madam Secretary stars Téa Leoni, Tim Daly, Sara Ramirez, Željko Ivanek, Keith Carradine, Sebastian Arcelus, Patina Miller, Geoffrey Arend, Erich Bergen, Kathrine Herzer, Wallis Currie-Wood, and Evan Roe. The drama follows the shrewd, determined Elizabeth McCord (Leoni). As U.S. Secretary of State, she battles office politics, while driving diplomacy and negotiating global deals.
Elizabeth was once a CIA analyst, who exited that post for ethical reasons. She later returned to public life, at the request of President Conrad Dalton (Carradine). He values her apolitical leanings, knowledge of the Middle East, flair for languages, and unconventional thinking. Elizabeth is married to Henry (Daly), a former theology professor who is now an intelligence operative. Together, they’re bringing up three children, which can really test her diplomatic skills.
What do you think? Which season five episodes of the Madam Secretary TV series do you rate as wonderful, terrible, or somewhere between? Should CBS cancel or renew Madam Secretary for a sixth season? Don’t forget to vote, and share your thoughts, below.
*5/9/19 update: CBS has renewed Madam Secretary for a sixth season.
Love Madam Secretary – this is the only how on the air besides talk shows that is willing to address current issues. It is courageous and bold. DO NOT CANCEL this show. I’m so sick of death and dying on he television. How can intelligent people watch that trash then wonder why crime is rampant and their children are considering suicide! Keep the good shows and dump the negative trash.
I really hope they continue this show. I purchased the last 2 seasons just so I would not miss an episode. This show has a way of integrating current political and social issues into the story that is innovative and fresh. Casting is immaculate..Love this show….10 stars.
This is the most intelligent, challenging, engaging, thought-provoking drama on network TV today. It’s also wonderfully entertaining, with characters one can’t help but care about. Please, please, please don’t cancel it!!!
I love this show, characters ans this kind of political thriller. I do apreciate the political advices about events tuning around the world. I receive the ethic messages behind.
Thanks a lot, I hardly hope or will continue!!!
I wanted to say “running ” in my previous message and not “tuning”
I hardly hope THIS EXCELLENT show continue
Madam Secretary is the BEST show on tv. The writing, the acting, the casting, all is fantastic.
The season plot lines carry through with amazing clarity into current political, social and economic situations, you name it, they are not afraid to tackle any of them! Go Madam President!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. Do NOT cancel the only show left on the air that caters to individuals who’s IQ is higher than their age. PLEASE
Madam Secretary is the best show on television as of now, there are plenty of shows that are excellent on the various networks but this show, THIS SHOW is amazing, the show takes us on a journey every week that teaches us something, be it morally, emotionally or scholarly. This is how our country should be run, compassionately..please, please renew this show…
I have really enjoyed watching Madame Secretary. I would love to see it continue, seeing her and her family go through a presidential election and winning would be great. I am not sure I liked how they wrote the family in this most recent episode, but think if it is well written there are lots of possible story lines they can explore. I pray it continues. Not sure how the name can be changed. I would love to see Elizabeth McCord become Madam President!!!
This is a wonderful entertaining and thought provoking show that plays on the current political landscape yet shows family dynamics and issues that parallel so many. Working parents regardless of their job or status experience the same issues raising responsible kids. Please renew for season six as Madam Secretary and rename for season seven Madam President.
This is the best show on TV. Most episodes touch me so I wind up in tears. My wife agrees. Please renew the show.
Madam Secretary is one of my favorite shows of all time. I’m so tired of quality shows being cancelled, and I’m hopeful that whomever has the power to keep this one going will recognize there are many of us out here who appreciate intelligent, thought-provoking tv, and there is a severe lack of it. Which is why it’s so important to keep shows like Madam Secretary on air!
One of the best, most thinking shows anywhere on TV these days. RENEW!
Best show on tv, we watch mainly ABC shows, but Madam Secretary and Big Bang are the two we are hooked on for CBS. They better keep Madam Secretary going, it needs to turn into Madam President.
One of the best shows on TV, please renew for another season!
This is the best show on TV at this time. I can’t wait for Madam Secretary to turn into Madam President.!!! Just best it might not show up on the Nielsen ratings doesn’t mean that people don’t watch it. I have binge watched this show at least ten times on Showbox. I learn something new every time.
