Memphis Beat follows a detective (Jason Lee) in Memphis who happens to moonlight as an Elvis impersonator. The cast includes Abraham Benrubi, Alfre Woodard, Celia Weston, DJ Qualls, Leonard Earl Howze, Robyn Lively, and Sam Hennings.
The series debuted on June 22nd to a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.33 million viewers. The numbers came down a bit after that and the 10 episode first season has averaged a 0.8 in the demo and about 3.6 million viewers. The season concluded on August 24th.

I love this show!!! The writing , the actors, characters, are great. Please renew–Jason Lee and Alre Woodard. This show is a breath of fresh air to me.I am sick of shows that make me run to turn them off. I love this show you hear!
PLEASE renew–Jason Lee and Alre Woodard and good stories–what’s not to love about that???!!!
Renew. ‘Nuf said.
What gives a show longevity is the interactions between the characters- M*A*S*H, All in the family, even I love Lucy. Memphis Beat has that down to an art in the first season. We got to see a lot of charcater development with all of the principals, notably D.J. Sutton’s character, David. The relationships that are morphing between Lee’s character and his mother, partner, ex-wife and police chief are also intriguing and have emotional integrity. I wish they were filming in Mmephis, but enjoy the occasional glimpses of NOLA too. As a lifelong Southerner, I find the characters, dialogue and stories… Read more »
My husband and I both hope Memphis Beat gets renewed. Great show, good actors and love the music.
Jason Lee and Memphis Beat is the greatest. All my friends think so and we are in our 60″s!!
Good show with characters filled with flaws – and humanity. Stories are just bizarre enough to hold my interests. I love the show. BRING IT BACK!
The only problem with this show is the time slot for viewing. Monday and Tuesday evenings for 9 pm and 10 pm already had good programs competing for ratings. When Covert Affairs came on I let Memphis Beat go, watching it later on my computer. If you put it Wed. , Thurs or Fri. evening I would be able to watch it.
Yes, this show deserves another season. The more I watched it, the more I liked it. Give it a chance to get a fan base. The Elvis songs are great.
I have been pleasantly surprised by Memphis Beat. I enjoy the story lines and the characters. Please renew it for next summer.
Definetly renew show and also put out album of Jason Lee singing songs from show!!
TNT Please don’t cancel Memphis Beat. I love this show. The music is wonderful, Jason Lee is soooo sexy, and the stories are inspiring.
My husband and I enjoyed this show a lot. Jason Lee is great. Who knew he could sing and sing so well? Really hope this is renewed for another season. The music is so good and the entire cast is a treat.
I’m pretty sure it’s not him singing.
Memphis Beat is so worth bringing back. Jason Lee is exceptional as Dwight, his character is slightly off beat, but, sharp, kind, sweet and gentle. He portrays an image of what we wish we could see in policemen everywhere. The supporting actors/actresses are awesome!!!!
In this day and age there is very little that really entertain people..I’m sick to death of all the mindless reality shows..
Memphis Beat really hit my “Entertainment Button” I can watch this show
and feel rewarded that I have seen it.
I really hope this goes to a second season. We need more shows like this..
Get rid of the reality shows that expose and humiliate the participants…Is America that stupid that they enjoy seeing other peoples misery????
Well….get me the best seat in the Coliseum and bring on the lions
