Fans of TNT’s Men of a Certain Age were understandably a little confused by last night’s finale. Early last year, the cable channel renewed the TV show for 10 more episodes. Soon after season two began in early December, TNT started promoting the season finale after just six episodes. What happened?
Well, there’s good news. Men of a Certain Age has not been cancelled. TNT decided to increase the episode order to 12 installments and has broken the season up into two parts. A start date for the next half dozen episodes hasn’t been set yet but they’ll probably be released in the summer.
Men of a Certain Age follows three male friends as they adjust to the realities of middle age. It stars Ray Romano, Scott Bakula, and Andre Braugher.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear the show will be back with more episodes? Do you think breaking up the season like this is good or bad for the ratings?
This is a great show– intelligent, well-done and entertaining. With all the garbage that is on TV now, this show was a bright spot in an otherwise dim line-up. I don’t understand all the promotion for this show, and than ending it after so few episodes. Perhaps when they restart the show, they should give it a better time slot. I am a faithful fan– hope they can get thier act together and continue this show for many years..
It has gotten better each episode. This year has been fab and now, under Ray Romano, it doesn’t even show up on my cable systems Guide. More, please more.
love the show…I can relate to all the characters.
I loved the exploration of their individiual struggles this season, which are considerable. I’m just glad we get more! I’ll be a faithful viewer!
Wow what a stupid thing to do. This is a great show. I guess they have to do whatever they need to do to keep it on the air. I would hate to see it cancelled.
So glad it wasn’t cancelled! I was in a panic looking for it. This is one well-written and well-acted show. One of my favorites on television and I can’t wait for it to come back. I love all the actors on the show, but my husband and I have been huge Andre Braugher fans for years and will watch any show he is on.
I’m glad it wasn’t cancelled, but I do think it is stupid to breakup the season like this.
this is the best series on television. Dontfool around with the time slot.
We love this show. Three great actors. It’s real and it’s funny and it’s sad — all the emotions of real life at that age. Glad that it’s not cancelled. Too long between installments. Anxiously awaiting new shows!!
OMG they get a good show like this and rather than run it in it’s scheduled time slot, they break it up. Must be about the money.
WHY? JUST FINISH IT… RAYMOND KEPT IS STRAIGHT… RAY WHAT’S UP? BRING ON THE OTHER 6…
WHY BREAK IT INTO 2 PARTS… DON’T LEAVE US HANGIN’…
Men of a certain age is one of the best shows on television. I do not know how wise it was/is to slot it against Monday night football, but. Please consider this a vote to continue the series into 2012 and beyond. Thank you.
Ridiculous! We wait 8 months for the show to return and get a month’s worth of shows before it disappears again for 5 months- for 6 more shows in the summer? Who in the world thought up that scheme ,an intern in the scheduling dept. ? This is a lesson on how to kill a show and discourage it’s following.I love the writing and the casting but tell Ray I’ll probably be too busy with golf when the show finally returns!
Oh, that’s what happened! I just finished a ‘frantic search’ for it. Dumb to split it up, but alas, this seems to be the norm these days!?
