Fans of TNT’s Men of a Certain Age were understandably a little confused by last night’s finale. Early last year, the cable channel renewed the TV show for 10 more episodes. Soon after season two began in early December, TNT started promoting the season finale after just six episodes. What happened?
Well, there’s good news. Men of a Certain Age has not been cancelled. TNT decided to increase the episode order to 12 installments and has broken the season up into two parts. A start date for the next half dozen episodes hasn’t been set yet but they’ll probably be released in the summer.
Men of a Certain Age follows three male friends as they adjust to the realities of middle age. It stars Ray Romano, Scott Bakula, and Andre Braugher.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear the show will be back with more episodes? Do you think breaking up the season like this is good or bad for the ratings?
I enjoy the show very much and am pleased to hear that it will return for further episodes. I would rather continue seeing all the episodes now but as long as I know it will return I am ok about this I am not sure how others think. I am however getting a bit tired of really getting into shows and they yank them off the air just as you look for more. Glad this isn’t one of them!!
Just glad it’s not cancelled. Kept looking for it on schedule, on demand. Great show.
Not good to break it up, I only became hooked with the Season 2 opener, I can only hope that I will remember to watchout for it by the summer.
Its a great show, and its never on! All is see is that sorry “Bones” on TNT! When will “Men” be on again?!
I think this is a well made, intelligent show that accurately reflects real life issues of the generation they are portraying. I was confused by the “short” season and am delighted that it is continuing on, albeit broken into two shorter “sub-seasons.” I only wish this had been communicated to the audience more clearly. Hopefully, the new start date will be disseminated more effectively and we will not have to wait forever for the new season of “Men.”
I was wondering where the show went, I too am glad it’s not canceled. Splitting up the season is about as good an idea as NBC had taking all 10PM dramas off the air and running Jay Leno… look how well that turned out. Am I wacky, or doesn’t TNT want to build an audience.
Good news for the Wif and I.
really frustrating for the viewer. great show but everytime one gets into it… it seems to finish and wrap up the season. then you have to wait months for the show to start again only to have the same repeat. would be much more enjoyable if it remained fluid and continous like so many other shows. quite annoying and not well thought out.
This is Bad! I was happy it was back, saw two episodes then Poof! Gone! They are backwards in their programming schedule and will lose viewers, but only because they Literally Lost them! It shouldn’t be hard to watch a TV program.
Thrilled to find it has not been cancelled. Men of a Certain Age is one of the few adult shows on tv!
it’s stupid to break it into 2 parts….. just glad it’s not cancelled
Men of a Certain Age is one of the better shows for views to enjoy. It’s funny, intelligent, dramatic and real. The actors have great chemistry. The network needs to do more to promote the series through other network advertising so people are reminded of it. It would be a shame if this show was not allowed to develop and continue.
I really look forward to the show, it’s one of a few shows my husband and I watch together.
When a person tries to set a DVR to catch a show he or she really enjoys, you make it damn difficult by changing the programming schedules every few weeks. I think it stinks!
Hubs and I really enjoy this program. Glad to hear it’s a programming change up…
Hope we discover when it comes back… good way to lose fans if we can’t find it…. life is busy….
