Fans of TNT’s Men of a Certain Age were understandably a little confused by last night’s finale. Early last year, the cable channel renewed the TV show for 10 more episodes. Soon after season two began in early December, TNT started promoting the season finale after just six episodes. What happened?
Well, there’s good news. Men of a Certain Age has not been cancelled. TNT decided to increase the episode order to 12 installments and has broken the season up into two parts. A start date for the next half dozen episodes hasn’t been set yet but they’ll probably be released in the summer.
Men of a Certain Age follows three male friends as they adjust to the realities of middle age. It stars Ray Romano, Scott Bakula, and Andre Braugher.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear the show will be back with more episodes? Do you think breaking up the season like this is good or bad for the ratings?
Such a pity – this is the worse show on TV.
Who ever produces this show really does not like men as it strips them of all sex appeal.
Oh, and the washed out look does nothing to flatter these guys.
We love this SHOW!! I dont like that we have to wait until the summer to watch the whole season…But I guess we have to!
I Love this show. Was encouraging all my middle aged men friends to watch. Funny, sad, thoughtful. Could use a few more laughs. (appropriate/contextual laughs) I hope I remember to look for it this summer. I’m middle aged -short memory.
I enjoyed Men of a Certain Age from the very beginning when it 1st started and was happy to see that it was returning. It was hardly on at all when it disappeared. Please do not even think about canceling this show. I do not work for any TV networks, not have I ever before, but even I know that this was not a sensible decision to pull the show for a few months. It makes it difficult to follow a show when you have no idea when it is going to be on.
I like the ‘Men of a Certain Age’ series, I hope it is not cancelled.
One of the BEST series on TV. I think it foolish to break-up the episodes, but the TV executives knew enough to extend the series. Let’s hope that they know whats best about programming.
I agree with Orna on this. Unless there is an issue with actually creating the episodes splitting them is confusing and annoying…..
TNT does this with The Closer, and I end up missing the last few eps.
I’m so glad I found out that the show had not been cancelled.
The program is well written, the actors are to me, not acting. They are just like the friends I have. I mean that Ray and crew are acting so beautifully that I feel they are just some of the guys.
Great news and I look forward to watching the upcoming episodes.
By the way, it’s a great show. I love being the female fly on the wall while guys are discussing their issues. Keep it going. Even my husband likes it. And that’s saying a lot.
I’m glad to hear it hasn’t been cancelled, however, I don’t like the idea that it is in two seasons. It’s hard enough to know when it will be on again unless you always watch TNT to catch the comercials for it.
I don’t think it’s a good idea to split the season into two parts. It becomes confusing and we don’t know when it’s on or not. I didn’t know it had ended for the season, I went to watch and I couldn’t find it, I didn’t know one way or the other what was going on. I think it should follow the same programming schedule as the other tv shows.
I forgot to mention…breaking up the show is BAD, really BAD fot the ratings.
We all love this show, praying THEY don’t cancel it. Hopefully the only reason you asked for my email address is so you can tell me when its going to be on again. Geese!
I am thrilled that the series has not been cancelled. I am okay with the split season. It’s definitely something to look forward to for the summer. MOACA is one of my very favorite shows. I try to turn everybody I know on to this show.
We LOVE this show. My husband and I are 50-somethings and we can so relate to every episode. P-L-E-A-S-E don’t cancel the show. It’s awesome.
