The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.

Why? Why was it canceled? I don’t get it. It was good. Miami Medical was a show we looked forward to watching. It was fresh. No inter-doctor drama yet like Grey’s. Get rid of some of the old worn out shows & put Miami Medical back on.

I loved this show and trauma. All the good new shows always get cancelled and they just keep adding csi’s and. Law and orders . I get so tired of the same old thing. Who’s doing the ratings
I can’t believe CBS cancelled this show – it was great. It is so disappointing to really get into a show and then have it cancelled.
I am so disappointed that Three Rivers and now Miami Medical have been cancelled! These were two of the best medical dramas I have seen since ER so many years ago! CBS needs to do some serious re-thinking as to what’s good and what isn’t.
I do not think “Miami Medical” should have been cancelled. The fact of the matter, is that a show aired on Friday or Saturday night is going to find it difficult to find viewrship. Those are the two nights of the week when people are most likely not to spend their evenings at home. First bring back Miami Medical!!! It’s a great show. well written and acted! In just one short season I can identify with all the charactors. Usually it takes till half way through the second season to really get invested.
Second I watch everything on DVR or online. I’m never home to watch things live. I think the ratings need to change and stay with the times. Just about everyone I know DVRs thier fav shows.

this is the best medical drama since Er and it gets cancelled.why do the good shows are cancelled and the bad ones are here. put miami med back on.
I enjoyed Miami Medical. Hate to see it go. I am tired of watching new series and then they are gone before you can really get into anything. Oh well. This is why I watch cop shows, they seem to make it.
I agree with those saying we are watching mostly DVR’d shows and not because we want to skip through commercials. I don’t have time every week to sit down right when my favorite TV show is airing for the first time. Thank goodness for my DVR, since I have shared Miami Medical with my family after I discovered it and recorded every episode.

Miami Medical is (or I guess I should say was) one of the best shows on TV.
Can’t believe it’s been cancelled.
I identified with the characters on the show and really cared about them.
This is a much better show than the other medical drama I used to watch.
I will miss Miami Medical.

Yet another great new show goes by the wayside, who is making these decsions and what are people watching instead?
I’m not sure who is doing the ratings that decide to cancel a new series once again. They are only hurting themselves for soon everyone will be going to Netflix. It get’s old that once you start getting into a TV series, the next thing you know it get’s canceled. Sorry but many of us viewers here in Colorado liked Miami Medical. Thank you
I’m so sick of all these networks giving me new shows that I actually like only to have them cancelled. Miami Medical being cancelled was the last straw. I will not watch ANY new shows put out by any of the networks again.
I am once again disappointed. I loved Miami Medical! They don’t give these shows long enough to catch on, especially when they air them for the first time in April — a time when NO ONE is expecting to see new shows. Hate it!
