The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.

I don`t think the network gave Miami Medical a chance, if they would of extended it to a second season I`m sure the ratings would of went up. It is a new and refreshing show and all of the actors work well togather. It has more of an upbeat but seriousness to it that makes it work. My opionion and I`m sure many more you just didn`t give this show a chance. I hope it`s not to late to reconsider and give it another shot.
CBS – I hope that you are reading Miami Medical Fans’ e-mails and taking a look at the voting…everyone wants this show to return…Please give it another chance…it needs to blossom. It’s a good show and I think if given another chance it will be an even better show.

I am upset to hear that Miami Medical, Three Rivers, Cold Case and Ghost Whisper are being cancelled. I looked to staying home on these night to watch the shows. I love all of these shows. I agree with taking all the Reality show off the air. What a waste they are. I won’t be watching them.

This is a great show. If you don’t like it then you must not like any medical shows at all. It should be brought back and as soon as possible.
My parents go me hooked on this show. It’s one of their favorites and now it’s one of mine too. I can’t believe that everyone didn’t like this show. It should be brought back soon.
I love Miami Medical. The cast were great together and i really loved Dr. Proctor. We never missed an episode and think it’s a terrible idea to cancel this wonderful show. It was one of the best new shows of this season. Please bring it back.
This could have been the next “ER”. So often networks pull the plug after one season. It’s been shown that a badly rated show that is allowed to run a second season often does better the second season and goes on to become a hit. I really wish CBS would rethink their decision to cancel “Miami Medical”.
I’m definitely bummed the show is being cancelled. I keep hoping they’ll change their minds. I was hooked from the first episode and haven’t missed one since. (Thank God for DVR). 🙂 I’m going to miss the show and the characters. It was a mix between House and ER…and kept me entertained throughout the entire show. So sad…
I felt so sad this past Friday night knowing that I was watching the Season Finale of Miami Medical and knowing that it would not be back in the fall. This show is such a good one that it is sad the network won’t give it a fair shake. If it had 7.5 million viewers, how many more is needed to actually keep it on air? Please bring it back for another season if only to tie up loose ends…don’t leave the loyal fans hanging.
I really liked Miami Medical. I never even began to think it was in trouble. It was a fun and totally enjoyable show. The acting was fine the actors were cool and the stories were good. The duck hat was a bit off..but you know even the Stones and the Beatles have less that perfect songs. I don’t know how scientific the polls on this site are but both related poll results say overwhelmingly that the show should still be on.
how can CBS do this? Just because the numbers were down a week or two? Miami Medical, three rivers, NBC’s Mercy and Trauma, are some of the very best on TV. I record the shows whenever I’m not able to see them. Take that gallup poll and throw it out..it does not represent the people who actually watch these shows!! As a matter of fact – get rid of those stupid reality shows. I love DRAMA !!!!
Loved this show! Like so many other people, we tape it and watch it later. We will miss it. I think CBS should give them another shot!
My adult daughter and I fell for Miami Medical on its very first airing and looked increasingly forward to each new episode. We are sorely disappointed by its cancellation.
