The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.

what were you thinking about? your survey asks how the public felt about miami Medical being cancelled……..92% polled stated they did not want it cancelled………CBS obviousley doesn’t value viewers opinion……….so why ask I thought it was a gret show, bring it back
Shame on CBS for cancelling all their good shows-Trauma, Numbers, now Miami Medical. Check out the ratings for TNT and USA with excellent dramas like Amazing Grace, The Closer, Southland, Dark Blue, Hawthorne, and think about how you can possibly compete. Cable is eating your lunch, guys.
This was the only show that really captured my attention. It was pretty accurate, not corny, and had substance (rather than simply relationships). Maybe CBS just needs to change the time it airs. Bring it back!

This show was cool ! Why is it whenever any decent shows come out they cancel them. Really, CBS needs to pull their head out of the ground and get a clue! Normal people love this show! I guess the viewing audiences opinions means nothing to CBS. I am so fed up with finally being able to watch a truly GREAT show only to have. it cancelled once again! You know what the problem is… they think that intelligent people prefer the ridiculous shows that they actually keep. that is why so many fantastic shows that actaully are not only entertaining but have well written scrips get cancelled. No kidding people get illico or other satelite dishes so they can get better channels to surf, since the normal channels cancel all the good shows.
Big big mistake to cancel this series.All the good and intelligent shows are taken off.Might as well quit watching tv.
It is amazing how the networks make such stupid decisions. I hope USA or TNT will pick it up. If they do I can cancel all my local channels, nothing on them to watch.

Every single time an excellent show comes on, it gets cancelled. WHY does this keep happening? Trauma, Miami Medical, and so many others that were so good are gone. This is wrong on so many levels!!!!

I can’t believe they cancelled Miami Medical, it was one of my favorite shows. Well guess I won’t be watching CBS on Friday nights anymore. Come on CBS bring it back!!

Please bring it back! One of our favorite new shows. I can’t believe it’s being cancelled. The cast was great, particularly Ava and Dr. Proctor………….never missed an episode. I am very disappointed with CBS!
