The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.

Please bring this show back! It was one of the best medical dramas in a long time. I loved the sets and the acting. There was some humor thrown in with the drama. Just an all around great show. Maybe if you moved it from Friday nights it would do better. I know it seems like they never listen…but maybe if enough people complain it will help. It has happened before. With enough uproar they will consider bringing it back.
Great show! Mad that it was canceled. Cancel shows like Medium, Ghost Whisperer, Old christine.

I was shocked to find out Miami Medical was cancelled. There are so many shows that are not even worth watching these days. Jeremy Northam is one of my favorites and a shame that you cancelled him. I am an “ER” fan and this came very close. Bring it back, please!!!!

I don’t believe that Miami Medical is being cancelled. It was so compelling and down to earth. I guess no sex & no violence just doesn’t cut it anymore. The acting was super, and story lines realistic. I will hate to see it go.\

Wow! I am shocked and disappointed. I don’t watch a lot of TV, but Miami Medical is one show I did not miss. What a shame that so many insignificant, unintelligent shows seems to endure while great shows like Miami Medical are canceled. Please save the quality shows and get rid of the trash!
I can’t believe the best new show to come on the air was cancelled!! Who did this? Where were the ratings taken? I never received one. This was the one show we made sure we watched each week and even when on vacation we managedto view the season finale……..I am so disappointed to read this very sad news. unbelievable!! They keep the trash on the air and actually take off a valuable show. Sorry state of affairs but then again there is so much trash on TV it may be hard to identify something of worth.
