The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.

Another great show falls victim of the completely outdated and inadequate “Neilson Ratings”. I wonder how we can speed up changes to reflect true viewing, and not just “live” TV viewing. We prefer recording and viewing at our leisure! Miami Medical was a great show. The characters were well developed and wonderfully human, as well as fine medical practioners functioning as a life saving team. We miss you already!!
Miami Medical and Mercy we great shows! I don’t understand why you would cancel a show that was finally worth watching! I am very disapoointed that these shows will not be back!!
I thought this was a great show and was looking forward to the show each week! I loved the characters and I thought they had an interesting idea with the show! Too bad to see if off the air so quickly! There are so many other shows I would cacel first!
It was a great show and i am highly disappointed they cancelled it. I can’t believe it got such poor ratings. Do people not have good taste in shows anymore or are they going for more of the brain rot shows thats on now.

I don’t understand why they keep cancelling good shows. They bring out three medical drama shows (Miami Medical, Trauma, and Mercy) and then cancel all three of them. First they cancel ER, which was a great show and now this. How freaking ridiculous is this….bring them back they are all worth watching. There are more people than you think who enjoyed watching the shows. You wonder why ratings go up and down the way they do…it is because you don’t keep anything running for more than one season….especially the ones worth watching…..think about it…..

UGH…I loved that show….Was the only medical show that was worth watching anymore!!! Made me laugh and cry…..I love that in a show!!! Please bring it back CBS – PLEASE!!!
How do they know how many viewers there are? Do they have spy cams on our TVs? Miami Medical was a great show! Never missed an episode. Who is making these asinine decisions? Eleventh Hour was a great show too but they cancelled it in favor of the ho-hum The Mentalist?

i have no idea and but was said about rating i cant belive it i realy enjoyed this show at it is a shame that it was pulled i would hope that maybe they can consider bringing it back for a second round i belive if given the chance it will do very well
I wonder where they came up with the rating figures and who the clowns are that cancelled a good show. I know alot of people who loved that show. The stories and the cast were superb. I could go through your list of shows that you are bringing back and give you alot of reasons to cancel about half of them. If you go back and check on alot of the highest rated shows and check out their first season ratings you’ll find that most of them had the same ratings if not lower.
