Poor ratings have claimed another victim. It’s been learned that NBC has cancelled their Midnight, Texas TV show. While there won’t be a third season of the supernatural drama on the peacock network, Universal Television is reportedly shopping the series to other outlets.
Based on the book series of the same name, from True Blood author Charlaine Harris, Midnight, Texas stars François Arnaud, Dylan Bruce, Parisa Fitz-Henley, Arielle Kebbel, Jason Lewis, and Peter Mensah. Guest stars in the second season on NBC include Michael Harney, Mindy Sterling, Adam Langdon, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Jaime Murray, and Nick Lee. The supernatural drama unfolds in the remote Texas town of Midnight, a haven for those hiding out from the world. There, only outsiders belong, while normality is just plain weird. The townies come together to form a sort of chosen family. Together they fend off external pressures from nosy police officers, vicious biker gangs, and their own dark pasts.
While Midnight, Texas has some devoted fans, the cancellation hardly comes as a surprise when you look a the ratings. The first season averaged a meager 0.74 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.99 million viewers.
Despite the low ratings, NBC renewed the summer series and opted to air the show as part of the regular broadcast season. The network chose to program it on Friday nights, the same evening that NBC once aired their supernatural Grimm series.
The ratings for season two have been much lower and the eight installments have averaged a very low 0.40 demo rating with 2.08 million viewers. Unless Universal is able to find a new home for Midnight, the defacto series finale is set to air on Friday, December 28th.
What do you think? Do you like the Midnight, Texas TV show? Would you watch a third season of this supernatural series?

Hope another network will pick this great series up and give it the time slot it deserves; it’s an awesome series and hopefully it will live on at another network!
PLEASE don’t cancel the show – there are soooo many questions left unanswered for this fun and quirky show! I’ve been a fan from day one and can’t wait each week to see what this group of misfits is up against or what kind of trouble is brewing in Midnight. I hope that it will find a place to live that will allow it to continue sharing the trials and tribulations of the citizens of Midnight. Midnight Texas deserves the chance to prove that it can make it – try it in a better time slot, not on a night… Read more »
I can’t believe this show isn’t being picked up again. It’s one of the best shows on NBC regardless of what the ratings may say. I’m way over the age range that the demographics show to be the norm. Please find another station to pick it up!
Heck yeah I would, I love this show and I am very upset with NBC at this point….AGAIN!! Because trust me, this is not the first time NBC had canceled a show that I really love.. It happened a couple times in the past, and this is why I usually don’t watch NBC!! I do think that NBC should have kept Midnight, Texas as a summer show.. Because there are way too many shows on TV during this time, and very few shows in the summer.. So moving it to regular broadcast season was not a good idea.. But if… Read more »

Yes please keep Midnight,Texas on the air. I only have broadcast TV and I’ve never seen anything like this. This is a this is a wonderful series I love it I think it’s great
This is one of my FAVORITE shows!!!! Someone better pick it up and put it on another network!!!! There is still so much more they can do with this show!
I love this tv show. One problem is that it is not on at a good time . it should be at 7 pm or 8pm eastern time that is. This show has a good story line it, it has a good cast and is interesting. It does need a little more romance and excitement from time to time. But that is on the writers. Please do not cancel this show. It is one of the only tv shows that I watch. Worth one more try with a better writer, time and advertising for the show. The advertisement was very… Read more »
We love it and are very disappointed
I LOVE the Midnight Texas show. PLEASE, please, please, renew this show! It seems that every show that I love from this network gets cancelled. It’s so depressing to watch this network anymore. You get to loving a show and it gets cancelled. PLEASE Renew Midnight Texas! I love it so much!
I just started watching Midnight Texas like two weeks ago and I fell in love with the show. Now when I started to watch season 2, they want to cancel it. I love this show and I would watch more seasons of it when someone pick it up hopefully.
No!!! please don’t cancel Midnight Texas! I love this show. I pray another network picks it up.
Love this show!!!! I was so happy when it came back on. I am very sorry to see that it was cancelled One less reason not to watch television!!!
I live this show and much like Lucifer hope it finds a home especially after the last episode. There must be a way Manfred can not be dead. I hope amazon or Netflix or hulu can keep this show going.
Yes Manfred shoud magically be healed by the “healer” to come back and save the town and people. Manfred should also come back with a more powers. I also hope that netflix takes it over and makes it better and longer.
I have enjoyed every episode of both seasons. My family and I are hoping another network will pick up the series. We would really hate for the series to end.
