Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear that Missing has been cancelled? Why do you think the show didn’t succeed? How long should have the show realistically lasted — one season, two, three or more?

So many people were looking forward to seeing Season Two…What a bummer..Stupid move canceling it..Great story line…Put it back on….PLEASE………….
Now ABC puts on another show called Red Window. Is this suppose to take the place of Missing ? I hope not. I really would like ABC to reconsider their decision and put the show everyone is talking about. Missing.
I loved this show and think there should be a second season. there aren’t a lot of show that my hole family can set down and watch together but this was one of the.
The last episode ended with such mystery-great series-ABC should stop relying so much on Nielsen ratings.
Sad that Missing is not coming back. Wondering what was going to take place in the second series!!
My family loved this series!!! They should have moved it to another night first!! Very disappointed it was not renewed!!
I can’t believe this show was canceled. I was the most action filled suspense show on TV. Maybe it should have been switched to a different night or time to see if that helped. I looked forward to seeing the second season and was shocked to find there was not one.
I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS SHOW WAS CANCELLED!!!! This was one of the best shows on TV. Definitely one of my top 3 and I watch a lot of television. Please bring this show back. We should all contact ABC and tell them what a mistake they have made. 🙁
this is one of the best TV series i’ve watched start at the first episode. i’m don’t know why this such a great tv series only had 1.5 in avarage rating, is it the ABC fail giving good promotion, or any other else reason. This show must have next season. Four or more seasons
Just did a search for when the second season started. I am totally baffled! Cancelled? This was the best show ABC has put on the air for a long time! The actors were great! It kept you on the edge of your seat for the entire hour. This is a real disapointment.
So sorry to see this series end. The locales were awesome and the acting great. Why can’t this show be given a second chance? I am very disappointed in ABC.
So disappointed to see that the show has been canceled! I’ve been waiting for it for months, so just googled it so that I wouldn’t miss when it resumes. What were you thinking???!!!!????
I have been waiting for Missing to return , and I am not alone. Why do TV stations pull off shows that people like, if you think it’s not succeeding that night put it on another night, but this is a good show ..what is wrong with ABC and who makes these stupid decisions anyway?
This show was great. Great acting, great story lines and twists… TV networks drive me crazy. Can’t believe ABC cancelled this great show, while others that are much worse keep getting renewed.
So typical of ABC to cancel the good shows. I loved this series and was looking forward to the second season. I think 10-13 episodes, per season is sufficient for whom ever they are searching.
this show was fabulous, yes, a lot of good shows get cancelled, very disappointed
