Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.

My husband and I LOVED this show, like other people said it kept you on the edge of your seat and the set was great with all the countries. I can not beleive it could of had low ratings. Its such a shame it won’t be on again and I only found this out today, July 27th and I am very disapointed as I was looking forward to the next season.
I really think this is so unfair,this show was awesome for people who liked watching drama and action,later alone being so inspirational with great actors and actress,may be to twist a little bit in time how about canceling those fake reality shows”this is so annoying!
I am so disappointed. What a great show. It kept you on the edge of your seat. Friends and I discussed the plots all week long and couldn’t wait for the next one. Perhaps it wasn’t given enought time. There are so many reality shows and boring plots and repetative episodes on different shows. Its like everyone is copying. Then along comes a show like missing and to hear its been cancelled. Please reconsider, maybe put it in a different time slot.
Sorry to read it was cancelled. I love Ashley Judd especially when she is action movies. Actually i Love anything she does, comedy, romance, drama, she is a great actress.
A great show! Why is it they keep all of the crazy goofy shows and get rid of all of the good ones! The only thing one can assume is that there are a lot of morons out there watching “reality” shows! If they want reality then someone should make a show about an average family trying to survive in today’s economy!
Love this show! Why don’t they try putting this on the air during peak winter months, when there is nothing else on but all those stupid realty tv shows.. I bet you more people would watch it then!!!!
i was shocked when i read that this is the last season of missing, it think thal is an incredible show and one of the most interesting and excitement show that i have ever seen.

I feel that they left the last episode very open. How can the mother go missing, surely they can come up with another season. I feel like I wasted time watching it to see it end like that!

when you premere a show in the spring it has very little chance to succeed. This was a fantastic show. It was suspensful, exciting and you had a cliff-hanger each episode. Why is it, every show I love doesn’t make it, but the horrible moral distroying shows do? What happen to only having shows start in the fall? This whenever they want is confusing. I had to watch missing on Hulu because I hadn’t heard about it until it was almost over. You guys need to plan these schedules out better.
Are you kidding me I was looking forward to seeing this shows season premeir the rating may have been low because the mid season concept is very confussing I dvr the series and watched them all together thinking it was a mini series PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE RETHINK AND BRING THIS SHOW BACK!!!!
Well once again you have chosen to cancel a great show. Perhaps instead of cancelling it you could have placed it in a better time slot or changed the day. I am sick and tired of the so called Reality Shows which are so FAKE its ridiculous. I refuse to watch them….
