Becca Winstone’s chase is over. ABC has cancelled Missing, their Thursday night TV series, after one season and 10 episodes.
Starring Ashley Judd, Missing follows a former CIA Agent turned single mom as she searches for her missing son in Europe. The action show also stars Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman, Cliff Curtis, Tereza Voriskova, and Sean Bean.
Missing got off to a disappointing start on March 15th, registering a 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.60 million viewers. It was in third place for the demo and second place in total viewership.
In week two, the numbers took a significant drop, to a 1.6 rating with 8.81 million. Over the next several weeks, Missing fell lower and lower. The most recent episode hit a new low with a 1.1 demo rating and 6.37 million total viewers.

Overall, Missing’s been averaging a 1.5 rating with 7.70 million viewers. If they had more episodes in the season, those averages would surely keep sinking lower.
On our ABC Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative demo success of TV shows on the network, Missing has a “D-” for a grade. Of the 22 scripted shows on the network this season, Missing ranks 21st — just above the already-cancelled Charlie’s Angels remake.
With low ratings and steep declines, it’s no wonder that ABC decided not to renew Missing for a second season.
The series finale airs next Thursday and will hopefully include enough closure to satisfy the viewers that stuck with it.
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear that Missing has been cancelled? Why do you think the show didn’t succeed? How long should have the show realistically lasted — one season, two, three or more?

Missing is good tv show it was best show out there and you have some bad tv show but missing is best tv show ever made in 2012
OMG!! This is such a disappointment. My boyfriend and I love this show. I will say there wasn’t enough advertising for the show. I actually stumbled upon the show flipping through the channels but was stuck from that day forward. Please bring it back ASAP!!! I’ve been waiting and just found out today it’s been canceled 🙁
Come on! You have just cancelled a real class act.The acting was superior to any of these mindless comedies that have piped in laughter and questionable acting. This show really could have used a better and more frequent leed in advertising. Any network that would pick up this great show and put it on at a better time or day would have a hit. So please keep this great show on and get rid of some of those Bad, Bad,Bad reality shows.
I am very disappointed re the cancellation of “missing”. It was a very exciting show, good acting, excellent locations, not a bad story line either. Very captivating, never a dull moment. Maybe it was not advertised enough. ( Like all those boring reality shows). I AM GOING TO MISS MISSING.
I think it is ashamed that the good shows that are entertaining get cancelled and we have to watch crap like the bachelor come on people!
I was very disappointed to hear Missing was not renewed. As mentioned above, it had all the makings of a great show- suspense, twist and turning plots, high quality sound and filming, worldly locations and what an amazing cast! There wastn’t a weak one on the list. Ratings are a huge frustration- I often question the logic of viewers. Perhaps that was the problem. Maybe this show would have had a hugely successful run if it had been pitched to HBO- where the audience expects and appreciates quality.
What are people watching now a days? This was a great show. Had great actors. None stop action and suspense. I’d like to know how homes are selected to create these ratings? They’re obviously all the ones that like the junk like GCB. It doesn’t even have a catchy title. Come on bring it back.
OMG… This was my favorite show… Can’t believe it is not returning for season 2. It was the best show last season… Thrilling, suspenseful, tender, amazing… loved it, loved Ashley, and will totally miss all. Every other show pales in comparison :(:(:(
I’m sad because my family sat in front of the TV every Thursday and watched that show..it was a really good show and we were hoping to see it come back on plz bringit back
I am really sorry that abc cancelled missing. It was a great show full of action and suspense, but it was cancelled anyway. I wonder if it had a male lead character in it wouldithad been cancelled so quickly. I hope another network take a chance and pick it up, and make abc feel stupid when it takes off with great ratings
My Family Really Enjoyed watching “Missing” We Couldn’t Wait for it To Come Back. Now to Hear it’s Not coming back for another season I’m Really Upset With ABC!!
Very sad to here that Missing was canceled.nit was an awesome and I was anxious to what what happen to Becca this season.
I have watched Missing since the day it started. I don’t understand why more people didn’t watch it. It was full of action and the emotional feelings of a mother in search of her son. I am disappointed in ABC and will miss this show.
