The search for Bigfoot continues. This week, Destination America announced they’ve renewed Mountain Monsters for a fifth season.
The docuseries “follows a band of hardcore hunters and trappers, known as the Appalachian Investigators of Mysterious Sightings (AIMS), as they try to prove that Bigfoot exists in hill country.”
Production on season five of Mountain Monsters begins this month, with a premiere slated for 2017.
From Destination America:
(Silver Spring, Md.) – Destination America announced today that MOUNTAIN MONSTERS has been greenlit for season five slated to premiere in Spring 2017. Production begins this month on the monster hit that follows a band of hardcore hunters and trappers, known as the Appalachian Investigators of Mysterious Sightings (AIMS), as they try to prove that Bigfoot exists in hill country.
The fourth season finale of MOUNTAIN MONSTERS on April 16, 2016 ranks as Destination America’s #1 telecast ever among HH, P2+, and M25-54 in L+3 delivery. It wrapped up the latest saga in AIMS’ ongoing search for Bigfoot – but this time with their fearless leader, Trapper, coaching from the sideline. Fans rallied around Trapper during his recovery from illness and cheered on the rest of the team, Buck, Huckleberry, Wild Bill, Jeff, and Willy, as they continued on their quest – and discovered a new foe in the foothills. AIMS was shadowed by a rogue rival team that closed in on their investigations but had not yet been identified, culminating in a cliffhanger finale with a mysterious attempt to make contact.
“MOUNTAIN MONSTERS fans are about as loyal as they come, second only to the AIMS team and their unwavering dedication to finding Bigfoot,” said Jane Latman, general manager of Destination America. “We hear from devoted viewers every single day wanting to know when they’ll get to see more of their favorite monster hunters, and we’re excited to announce that the wait is almost over.”
Nowhere does the mystery of Bigfoot’s existence run deeper than in Appalachia where, over the last 10 years alone, AIMS has uncovered evidence that more than a dozen different Bigfoot clans may call the mountain region home. In the new season, they’ll investigate new reports of Bigfoot sightings to track and attempt to trap these mysterious creatures.
MOUNTAIN MONSTERS is produced by American Chainsaws for Destination America with Colt Straub, Duke Straub, Royal Malloy, Russell Geyser and Jay Bluemke as executive producers. For Destination America, Cathy Garland is executive producer, Jane Latman is general manager, and Henry Schleiff is group president of Investigation Discovery, Destination America, and American Heroes Channel.”
What do you think? Have you seen Mountain Monsters? Are you glad it’s been renewed?
Love this show! Makes me and family members laugh. We are sooo tired of depressing world news and watch this because it’s funny. I could care less if they ever find bigfoot. Thanks
I really liked the show until late when it went from hunting bigfoot to more of a soap opera format. I have given up on the show as I think it is now one of the stupider shows on TV. Sorry guys!
I love the show & have since episode 1. It is my escape to watch a TEAM work together to hunt a monster & build some awesome traps. It provides comedy, folklore & insight on the way of life for those living in the Appalachia Mountains. If you watch believing they are going to catch a monster, your expectations may be a bit too high. If you are one of those who have nothing good to say about the show, change the channel. I’m assuming you are an adult & not tied up being held hostage, so your negativity is… Read more »

I absolutely love Mountain Monsters. I do realize that some of it is somewhat questionable but I love it just the same. I just love all the boys. They are really entertaining. This season 5 is different and it really has me me guessing. I can’t wait until the next episode to see what’s going to happen next.
Keep up the good work boys. Keep this show on the air Destination America! It keeps a smile on my face for an hour every week.
Love watching Mountain Monsters but in uk we only seem to be at season 2! Gotta say the 2nd Cherokee devil episode scared the living daylights out of me! This and Alaska monsters have kept me entertained whilst laid up with a back injury both shows definitely need more seasons
We love the show, especially our 10 year old daughter! She gets so excited when it is about time for a new episode to air. My question to the producers and Destination America is, Can you please make a DVD series of each season. Our DVR is almost full and we do not want to delete any episodes.
We love watching mountain monsters I hope on season 5 isn’t going end like that will crazy we need to know what’s going to happen

I love the show! My 10 year old daughter and I watch religiously. I’m from New York, live in Connecticut, and went to school in Montana. Put cameras in the trap damn it. My only complaint. However, like the cast, everybody is dynamic in there own way. You really sense some of them aren’t stupid at all. It’s a genuine personality all of them have! Keep it up guys!
Then don’t watch it
DITTO
Liz and Gary W If you don’t like it then don’t watch it . I assume your both adults so CHANGE THE CHANNEL, AND LET THE REST OF US WHO ENJOY IT WATCH IT!!
I was happy to see new episodes were coming up, I just check my dvr and was excited to watch the new season, im completely confused when this show went from bigfoot hunting to a soap oprea. The first two episodes are silly, if this is the new direction, im all set. Im not even going to dvr next weeks.
I think they’ve come through in the past with a format that was enjoyable, so I’ll see if they can pull this together too. I really like the shows new direction!!
I love the show, it’s my favorite show on TV. I hope there will be 10 more seasons
Love mountain monsters, it’s my favourite show. Keep them coming.
I love this show. Sad that many don’t like it and feel it is fake. All I can say is that do you really think that these men would go out and build these traps for the heck of it? No.
Totally fake. A bunch of guys running around in the dark like fools. I watched it a few times but it’s the same thing over and over. A waste of television air time.
Thanl you Jesus, and Sharon!!!! TAKE IT PFG THE AIR!!!!!!
A shockingly new format this season you are really missing out!
A bunch of hillbillies afraid of their own shadows, waving guns around, couldnt find their asses with both hands.
You try walking around in the dark with only a small light to guide you. They are better than you.
I’d like to see how you would do in the woods with a sm. light, with no one around, and unfamiliar noises nearby. You’d wish you had a gun.
