All for one, but three is all. Digital Spy (DS) reports the upcoming third season of BBC America and BBC One‘s The Musketeers TV series will be its last. The BBC has not yet officially announced the swashbuckling series is cancelled.
The 17th Century action-drama, inspired by Alexandre Dumas’ novel, The Three Musketeers, stars Tom Burke as Athos, Santiago Cabrera as Aramis, Howard Charles as Porthos, and Luke Pasqualino as d’Artagnan. The actors issued statements to Digital Spy, in which they reflect on their time on the ending series, thank their audience for tuning in, and even tease season three of The Musketeers.
Here is more, from DS
“My Musketeers adventure was truly an incredible experience, which will live with me forever,” said Pasqualino. “I had the most amazing time exploring this beautiful world with even more beautiful people.
“I feel very sad to see its end but have every confidence that the fans will love viewing it as much as we enjoyed making it. Huge thanks to all who made the show such a pleasurable journey and of course, thank you to the fans that saw the show for everything that it was.”
Burke promised that the final series of The Musketeers will explore “a universe that is less stable than the first two”.
“I suppose by that I mean that death and decay are casting a far bigger shadow than ever before from the very first episode,” he said. “And because of that characters come to really examine their motives, and their fears, not only to save France but to find peace within. Time is running out and no-one is getting any younger.”
Cabrera commented: “Three seasons of The Musketeers was a true, action packed adventure, in every sense of the term. I will miss the world of Dumas, these rich characters, and many of the friendships made along the way.
“A big thank you to the fans of the show, you’re the ones that kept us going strong. Hope you enjoy this third and final season as much as the first two. Your support has been wonderful. It’s all yours now.”
Charles also expressed his appreciation for the show’s loyal fans, adding: “The Musketeers has been a truly wonderful experience, an enlightening challenge and a memorable three seasons.
“These characters will never cease to educate us on the notion of Liberty, Fraternity and Equality. They will live forever in our hearts and minds. A huge thank you to our fans of old and new, hope you enjoy the final season. Your loyalty and support is not lost on us. All for one…”
In the upcoming last season of The Musketeers, Rupert Everett plays the villainous Parisian Governor Feron. The actor told DS he loved being on the series, adding, “The actors were all brilliant – as were the directors. It was hard work but fun. We were on location in the Czech Republic which is stunning and Prague is incredible. It was a hot Summer, so doubly great!”
The Musketeers is a BBC Drama Production for BBC One, co-produced by BBC America and BBC Worldwide. Series creator Adrian Hodges is lead writer. The Musketeers is executive produced by Jessica Pope, with Colin Wratten producing.

I enjoy this series. Don’t cancel it.
So disappointed. A true fan from Canada.
Please do NOT cancel The Musketeers…it is a great show and there is much more adventure that may come their ways in season 4 and beyond!!!! This quality program is reminiscent of the ones I grew up with and is very much appreciated. Everyone needs a hero, even us grownups! All great shows seem to get cancelled after only a short life nowadays…gone are the days of longevity. Viewers actually do have longer attention spans than the powers that be may think. Nothing is made to last…unfortunately for US. I have grown very tired of being loyal to a program,… Read more »
BBC, reconsider and give us a season 4 and more.. This show is different and great. There are so many bad shows on television that stay on much longer than this and we are stuck with them. Quality shows do not stand a chance.. They are cancelled so quickly, Do not understand the logic. Dare to be different keep The Musketeers on, Please.
How can we save this show? BBC, Please give us a season and more. I have binged watched this show twice and I have never done that before. It is different and I am tired of the same old shows with just different titles. BBC, you have a winner, do not cancel this show. Reconsider, give us a season four at least.
Noooo! Don’t cancel the show !!
Oh for the Love of all God please do not cancel this good , no amazing, no…wonderful show!! 8′(
PLEASE do not cancel this show! My husband and I are HOOKED. We love it and all the plots, the writing, the character and the series. Please renew for season 4!
I think it is a shame that this show is being cancelled so soon. It was a joy to watch every week and truly entertaining. If the network and producers/directors were not willing to see this through than shame on them. The cast is meant to play these rolls and they are all great together. I hate being teased with something terrific only to be short changed in the end. Please rethink this horrible decision.
Please don’t cancel! Love the show, handsome swashbuckling men, beautiful horses, what more could you ask for?
This is such an excellent show that it is hard to imagine that it is being cancelled! It is so well written, acted, and produced, could we “please” have another season!
Great show!! Very sad to see a show of this caliber cancelled!
