The mystery is over. Deadline reports NBC has cancelled The Mysteries of Laura after two seasons.
The crime drama starred Debra Messing as an NYPD homicide detective struggling to raise her young sons as a single mom. Josh Lucas, Laz Alonso, Janina Gavankar, Max Jenkins, Callie Thorne, and Med Steedle also starred.
The cancellation is a little surprising. The Mysteries of Laura held consistently decent ratings over the course of its second season, receiving an average of 1.11 in the 18-49 demo and a total of 6.973 million viewers.
NBC has also cancelled several of their series, including the freshman comedy Telenovela and the live sitcom Undateable.

I think it stinks. There is an entertaining show on and you cancell it! Then you keep garbage on. Very sad!

I really enjoyed this show, especially the character Laura, as a savvy, working, no nonsense MOM. I am disappointed to hear of its cancellation! I am almost afraid to invest my time when the network doesn’t care to back, support and encourage success in its programming. Just when I find and am loyal to a show, it gets cancelled. With all the cookie cutter crap on TV, this one was fun to watch! I give up.

Not a over the top great show but really entertaining. I enjoyed watching every week and sorry to see it go. Any chance it will come back please???
I would love to see NBC bring it back. I thought it was good! I am not a big fan of reality TV, and I liked the chemistry of the cast members. Just getting interesting with Laura and Jake!

I love the series. Very disappointed. Oh wait maybe Matt Lauer did not like the show had to be canceled. Feisty Laura is gone I will miss her.
