It seems clear that Gibbs and his team aren’t ready to retire yet. CBS has renewed their venerable crime drama NCIS for a 13th season.
On NCIS, Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team of special agents continue to investigate crimes that involve the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Co-stars this season are Emily Wickersham, Michael Weatherly, Sean Murray, David McCallum, Pauley Perrette, Rocky Carroll, and Brian Dietzen.
The ratings for season 12 have come down, averaging a 2.45 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 17.36 million viewers. That’s a season-to-season decline of 13% in the demo and about 6% in viewers.
Still, it’s one of the most-watched TV shows currently on television and so there’s no way that CBS would let it go to the television graveyard.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the NCIS TV show? How long can this series continue?
Yes! Renew! good on CBS. This is one terrific show. Even with the loss of “Ziva”, and her replacement, not ‘being’ Ziva, she has grown into the story.
I watch it every week w/o fail.
I am a retired El From the Army at first I thought. The program might have a problem but as usual it proved me wrong just like dark shadows did back in the mid 60’September man would I run home just to hear the starting loved that music. I just wish the people who make the decision to cut a show first give it a chance for a season before you just don’the show the series anymore you might be surprised to see something different then you thought. So please give some of the new ones a chance, he’ll we… Read more »
love love love NCIS YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!renewed keep this show going love it!!!!!!!!!
We love it
I love this show. I don’t want it to ever end. They’ve ended all my CSIs, which I am not happy about.
Used to love the show. Have not watched since Cote left.It lost its appeal for me and Michael well Michael is in for the money
Very poor this year. List so much when Ziva left the show. New probe is an awful actress Storyline is not maturing. I loved this show. Now won’t watch it
The shows have become rote- Gibbs walks in, crew leaves, Pauley Perrit speaks techno/ science/ Duckey pontificates and there is no intrigue, coupled with all politically correct sympathy pills. Either pull the plug or go back to some edgy series. Have quit watching
Been a fan of NCIS and so so happy to see Mark Harmon is continuing. I love the whole dynamics of the show.
We think the series needs to continue. We are hooked on NCIS. It has to include Mark Harmon and we think that Tony and Ziva should get together before the series ends for good.
I agree that Tony and Ziva should get together in this last, final series. I’m a great fan and was disappointed when Ziva left. I know we should ‘get over it’ as one commenter posted but she was such a dynamic part of the team and the plots were always so involved and exciting. Now it’s like mashed potatoes without salt! Bland…..
I do miss Cote de Pablo–she added a lot of zip! It is a really wonderful show. The characters are all so interesting and interact well. Would like to see it go on for a couple of years until they can have Gibbs retire…
NCIS embodies a fundamental desire of a huge segment of Americans, to see justice prevail. In the sphere of National Security a true to life agency like NCIS is engaged in the never ending struggle to keep us all safe. The key players in this TV version of NCIS offer another fundamental desire of Americans… STABILITY! Sure some have come and gone, and will continue to do so. Yet the turnovers have been emotional and spell binding with arcing story lines the keep you in suspense. Finally there is the tribute to Americas Service Men and Women. Americana drips from… Read more »
I like it, but i agree that it’s not maturing. The interaction just hasn’t been the same since cote de pablo left. Emily Wickersham is alright but just kind of lukewarm, and the only reason Sean Murray still has a job is that he’s the producer’s son-in-law.
Michael Weatherly is a colorful actor but is forever typecast as the frat house guy.
Just to set the record straight, if, by “producer,” you’re referring to Executive Producer (and NCIS co-creator) Donald Bellisario, he is Sean Murray’s stepfather. Murray’s mother is Bellisario’s fourth wife.
This series has always been a dud with its jingoism and sophomoric exchanges between the secondary actors. We had to stop watching after the second season.
I just started watching it a couple months ago after my sister insisted it was good. I agree with what you say, but it still is entertaining if a little campy.
If you want to see real horror……. I watched a short bit of that Burn Notice. Wow was that horrible acting, writing, and directing. I can’t believe it had a few season run. If not for guest stars brought in there’d be no acting at all
